I figure soon the music industry will go through the same thing the movie industry went through: the more independent artists will zoom in from left field and give the industry a much-needed jolt in the ass.
I don't know how to be sexy. If I catch a girl looking at me and our eyes lock, I panic and open mine wider. Then I lick my lips and rub my genitals. And mouth the words "You're dead."

Try out Vanessa Carlton. She seems to be a new artist who is *gasp* truly talented. Also listen to some classical music. Many works by Beethoven, Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, and many others don't have words yet are very expressive and original. I would recommend The Four Seasons by Vivaldi or Beethoven's Ninth Symphony as good starter pieces of music.

Hot to Death is gud. Second best song on Whitey Ford Sings the Blues! I liked "Next Man" the best.

Though the best part of that song isn't in your sig!

You smell that? Do you smell that? ...Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory.

Good music died after 1995.

But I find some really good bands through experimentation and boredom on occasion.. And then I bring them here, and like torture people with them.

With the exception of MAYBE a few, no one here even knew about bands like. Blind Guardian, or Dragon Heart, or Trans Siberian. I make it a point to corrupt the masses.

Best band of all time in concert, and for the most part on CD overall.

Trans Siberian Orchestra.

Perfect mix of just about every music genre out there. Mostly rock, mostly classical, partly blues, partly pop, and partly opratic.

If your looking for originality, flavor, and style. Try them.

Best CD by them, "Trans Siberian Orchestra: Beetoven's Last Night" or "Christmas Even and Other Stories" but TSO:BLN is the best of thier three albums.

Just to clarify my original point: I am fully aware that good bands exist, and I don't rely on the radio to introduce me to new music, I just think that there haven't been many good bands getting any real recognition in the past few years.

Stuff like N'Sync, Britney Spears and Linkin Park (to me, they are just another boy band, just one that does a kind of music I should like. I hate being a stereotype ) IS NOT EVERYTHING. Just find soemthing you enjoy and listen away.

I can't believe there is actually someone in the world who agrees with me on Linkin' Park! Yay! I wonder why I don't feel the same way about Incubus...

And Kin, you'd be suprised how often I think, This would be so much better without the lyrics when i'm listening to music.

And I'm perfectly content with my "unoriginal" music (Deftones, Tool, etc).

And perfectly content with my original music (Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, etc)

Eh, I don't have the problem of judging other peoples' music.

Instead, I would encourage those who feel stereotyped to forget about everyone else's opinion about you. If you don't like the type of music everyone thinks you should like, so be it.

As for me: Savatage, Blind Guardian, Manowar, Dream Theater, and so many more.

And then there's the classic rock. For that I've got The Loop.
