If we wanted to interact with each other in a realistic way we'd all find a place we can come together in real life. We don't want reality. We want a comfortable filter to play and explore. That's why we participate in a forum environment, and that's why it's a near-perfect place to roleplay. Its one shortcoming, short of ignorant people (who show up anywhere and everywhere) is that it's not as real-time as one might like.

This is no worse a metaphorical means to express ourselves in than it is for people to delude themselves into thinking their abilities in JK2, Counterstrike, Everquest or anywhere else is. Choose your means of expression. We choose board roleplay. Your opinions mean diddly, we will continue to do as we please, and we will continue to defend our choice from flaming idiots.

I'm not really sure if I should be thankful that this means I'm only a doofus as a character or insulted you called me a doofus.

I simply said that this is not the place for the majority of all roleplaying that goes on, especially of this nature. I say "the majority" because some people are in character all the time. Katrinity and Rhiannah, as Caelin cited. This post, however, was not an "open roleplay" thread, simply due to the nature of the two accounts talking back and forth to each other.

On another point, this roleplaying thread, being a thread dedicated entirely to roleplaying, would belong in the roleplaying section. Not that hard to grasp. Sorry, it's late and I just skimmed, so I'm not sure if you touched on that or not.

The fact that I roleplay is completely irrelevent. We are *all* aware that roleplaying goes on, and most of us are avid roleplayers. However, due to the nature of these boards, this is not the place for it. The reaction to this thread is already proof that the general message board isn't the proper medium for this sort of post.

It's losers like you that can't rp anything but a worthless, sarcastic asswipe that complain, because nobody wants to deal with you.

When you see two bathrooms, one marked "women" and one marked "men", which do you go into? Unless you're a hermaphrodite, there should be no confusion.

Likewise, if you see a room marked "Roleplaying" and one marked "General Discussion", which do you go into?

I understand how this so hard for you to grasp, with your mind filled with ways you can stop the evil Ops from abusing their power and making life harder on everyone, but try to keep up.

We did do roleplay in here. I did it, you did it, we all did. Eventually, roleplay got big enough that it got its own room. Now, when you're raising a dog, and it gets too big for indoors, you put it outdoors, unless you're a moron.

So, why keep a dog that's going to tear up the indoors when it's clearly big enough to handle itself in the outdoors?

By the way, nice way to appear as dignified as you always have.

The fact of the matter is we DO Rp here. I Rp as Lyinar and Jan quite frequently. Fae RPed Fae up till recently. Deth and Ah`kiam RP, Azy RPs his group. It's not serious RP, it's joking around like we've always done till we got such a bunch of narrow minded idiots around here, and there is no reason to delegate it to a specific EQ only RP board.

To reiterate, shut the fuck up and stay out of the thread if you don't like it.

And yes whether you RP or not is the point here. You RP here, for your own amusement, on this forum board. Drys does it, Piper does it, we all do it. We don't all do it all the time. Truth be told, Parcelan's story time threads really belong elsewhere (creative storytelling, yes? see that door marked parce?). Rhiannah doesn't exclusively post RP-Wise, and this thread isn't a serious RP post. If it was, Chuckles wouldn't be here. If it was, Caelin and Rhiannah wouldn't be interacting and Azy wouldn't be poking jokes. But there's poking jokes and there's being an asshole. Aeadil and Waiszt crossed the line. Imp's comments were, largely, the sort of cutting harassment that was expected. Crack jokes on Caelin and Rhiannah. We all do. We all jokingly RP with one another all the time. Don't act like it's a great sin to RP here, or to do something wholly RP related here. It's not.
