Today is apparently one of those no-meat-or-you-roast-in-hell days for them there Catholic types.

So I ran downstairs, ate a piece of chipped ham in front of my mom, and shouted "Your god can kiss my ass!"

In hindsight I may have been kinda asking for it.

Yeah, my mom likes to think and act as if I were still 11; a major factor in my decision to move out as fast as I can.

From nothing really, since I haven't got the slightest shred of respect for my mom

Searching for an actual pad is phase 32. I'm on phase 2.

Still though, there's this nice old lady in Squirrel Hill who's renting out a fairly nice full house. Maybe I can connive her into giving me a special price since I'm such a "nice young man!" *cough*

Since Reynar's obviously representing for the small faction of people who don't feel like thinking much this afternoon, I'm going to elaborate on my stunt.

I have no disrespect for the catholic faith. I have no disrespect for your meatless friday rituals.

I did this deliberatly to mischiviously irritate my mom who is a real "force-your-opinions-on-others" type. For this reason and no other.

Thank U.

But, to achieve that, you did disrespect the catholic faith.
Grammar is your enemy! - While being able to understand someone's sentences might seem like a good idea for a proper essay, complaining on a forum scarcely leaves time for such trivialities. Since your mother isn't the only person on the planet to believe in God, telling him to kiss your arse is considered disrespect and would be offensive to those who are believers.

It wasn't a serious comment. Is your faith so weak that you can't tolerate even the mistaken perception of criticism?

Maradon, what you fail to realize, is that how you MEANT to say something doesn't matter. If it offended someone, you were wrong for saying it. Period.

I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piña coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?

You mean the small Faction Of people that don't find it funny that you deliberately went and pissed you Mother off, and made fun of her faith? Most People grow out of that phase at like age 12, you must be an exceptionly slow learner. If she can't be tolerant, YOU can, that is if you didn't act like a little child most of the time.

Well for starters, I didn't say it to anyone here.

Secondly, yeah, what I meant does kinda mean something. This thread isn't about how I hate the catholic god, this thread is about how I like to annoy my mom. The comments therein are nothing more than a medium for that sentiment.

If you see a guy punch another guy on stage do you charge him with aggrivated assault? No, because the punch wasn't intended as a serious punch, it was arranged as a part of a performance.

A stage punch also isn't a real punch. If it IS, then it's up to the guy who was punched to determine whether to press charges or not.

Irrelevant.

Using this analogy, then your jest wasn't a serious jest? Therefore, you believe in all that Cathloic stuff?

Remember, the punch was fake, therefore so was you proclamation of unbelieving.

You know what's funny?

Densetsu's, Reynar's, and Lenny's reactions were all more hostile than my mom's.

She's not even all that mad at me anymore because I do stuff like that all the time and she knows I didn't mean it. You misinterpreted my actions and added hostility and belligerence that I didn't intend, and then you blame me for it.

Rather than trying to pick a fight out of what you've been presented with, why not try to pick the humor out of it instead. You'll find yourselves happier people.

Mine wasn't hostile, neither was Reynar's. I don't remember(nor care ) about Lenny's.

Just because it was hidden under the guise of humor does not make it humorous. We were only trying to explain that to you. Instead of being so defensive, you should learn what we are trying to teach you - the intent is void if the action is taken wrong. You should apologize to someone you offend, no matter HOW you MEANT it. Of course, if you MEANT to offend them, then apologizing is up you you blah blah blah, you know what I mean. You should apologize to those you didn't mean to offend, though.
