Blah blah blah gimme a link blah blah blah.

I don't know if the thing about them being on a chunk of rock is on the official site or anything. But I know I've read it in the past about how it landed on Luclin and made a huge crater where they still live. Well...there's this huge chunk of rock called Shar Val. It's in a crater. I'd hazard to guess that's all the proof needed.

In fact, a city wasnt blasted up to Luclin, it was just a big hunka rock with the Kerrans on it. They decided to build in this naturally fortified place (Since the combine empire was already up there, and the grimlings, too) and started calling themselves Shar Vahl.

Most of this, however, is peiced together from the library in Erudin, NPC quest speech, The Library in Paineel, and NPCs/books in Shar Vahl.

I'd love to experience first hand the betrayal of Jalad`Dar, though.

According to Vah Shir history (gathered from various NPC's I've talked/listened to), the Vah Shir got to Luclin via magic on a huge rock, which crashed into the surface and created the crater. Either the name Vah Shir or Shar Vahl comes from their first leader on the surface who helped them get back on their feet so they could go on with their lives (I think it's the city, not the people that took the name though). I'll post more when I get it.

It's my understanding the the origin of the name "Vah Shir" comes from the original name of their city on Odus, and that they call themselves Vah Shir in memory of their former city. The various class specific ranks, such as Dhar Kura, Tarrun, Jerrin, etc, are named after significant historical figuress who helped build the city of Shar Vahl and get them on their feet.

Want more specifics, there are several history books you can buy just outside the palace... also talk to the various guildmasters, they do have a little bit to say if you ask I believe, although I think they only tell it to those of their class while doing quests. My vah shir shaman got a few snippits of history when questing for his recruit cloak.
