I am popular here, I am well liked here, and I have quite a bit of sway here. I have never once in my past three years here, ever flaunted that fact, or abused it. There is a good reason for my popularity and reputation here. It is because of who I am, and how I act/treat/respect other people.
I am one of the oldest veterans on this board, only three I know of older than I. This is not a superiority issue, this is a fact. Since my time here, I have seen really good times, and then I see today. As I have said EC is like my second home. And the majority of the populace is tearing it apart. A lot of this is due to more people now than there ever was, but that is not an excuse and I will not accept that.
There is an over abundance of pissing contest going on around here, and a great majority of you are guilty of it and should own up to the fact. Slander is never right, whether the slanderie deserves it or not is irrelevant, and the abuse of this is reprehensible. Debates, debates are good. We've always had them. Nothing wrong there. The first time a personal insult is slung however, it's punishable. Period. So start watching what you say very closely because you could be contributing to the issues at hand. Bitching, bitchin in general is not bad. Bitch fights however are death to a community, and un forgivable. I will be very severe on any I catch doing this. Period
That applies to both Chat and The boards. I am not a mod here on these boards, however for those of you who have been abusing these things it's best for you that I'm not. Because I read these boards religiously and I am ALWAYS here, and you'd have a very big problem when I started coming down on you.
As chat is concerned, I was asked today to ban Paul from sorcery.net, as I have been numerous times in the past yet have never done. But this time my higher up asked it of me, and I was willing to oblidge. People bitched about double standards of the "popular" people. Well this is my responce, in life there is a need for double standards. Maturity governs your ability to survive here, if you lack it, your going to lose. And a lot of you are lacking it, and are main contributers to these problems. Here is where double standards come into play. As an adult you set certain standards for a child, this applies because it is directly maturity related. You may drink or smoke, but never allow a child to do such things. The reason being they do not yet have the maturity to handle such things. THAT is the reason for a double standard. Several people have managed to recover from thier pasts, that is not an issue. But it takes more maturity than some individuals can muster. And no matter the chances given they cannot fathom that. Period. It has no bearing on anyone giving them a hard time based on thier past, because those that overcame thier past dealt with the same exact thing. And they still managed it. SO don't give me that. It's an excuse and intolerable. This applies to a few people not just Paul. So don't go off on me just blaming Paul. It make you assume to much. And for those who jumped in not paying attention to what I said in Chat today. I quite frankly said, and anyone who knows me will vouche for this. I am NOT biased, nor am I cruel and unjust. No matter whether you are friend or not, veteran or newbie, Op or non Op. The rules are the same period. Period. I treat NO ONE with special concideration based on status in ANYTHING. I never have. On maturity yes, status no.
I recently requested myself banned from sorcery.net and from the boards, because as a person I could not handle what had happened to my home. And I needed a break. After thinking on it some I realized, I hurt myself more by this because now my friends were out of reach, and I had no place to rest. I should not, nor will I again, ever do that to myself. When you care about something, as much as I do about EC it very seriously becomes YOUR community, and the people there your family. As I do concider a lot of the people I've met here for quite some time. This is my home and my family. You can call me screwed in the head I honestly don't care, that is an honest heart felt feeling and I mean it. When it starts to go bad, you get frustrated, you get hurt, and then you get angry. Well now I'm beyond angry, I am pissed.
I don't concider myself above anyone here, nor have I ever even concidered the fact. I hold myself to the same things I've said. Since I have been here, I know of two people total that I have ever gone off on, if ANY of you can even THINK of more you just tell me. There is a reason for this, and I hold it dear.
I take things to heart, and I am very vengeful when they are hurt.
I will never leave EC willingly, none of you will ever have that satisfaction. If I get torn away it's because of life, I broke the rules, or because EC no longer exists. Im here for the long haul people and I am going to make sure you know how I feel from now on. You can count on it.

Consider this a new rule on the boards as well.
Be civil, be intelligent, and CONTRIBUTE to the community with your posts.... or else. If you have any doubts as to whether what you're about to post is appropriate or not, don't post it.

The thing with paul is nothing new, if its not him its someone esle or somethign esle Some people just use anythig to get others pissed off and or to make them selfs look better.
There's a few people that LIVE about doing this, and you know who you are. Drop it allready.

Yes, everyone's opinions on things here matter. Every post made here lately on these subjects is an attempt to clear the air and make things better. It's not working and it likely never will.
Text is a matter of perspective. When things are said in an environment like this, it's totally up to the person reading it on how they will perceive what the other person has said.
One day you could think that someone's being a total asshole, the next they are as sweet as candy. But consider for a moment it might not be their behavior that has changed. It's yours.
This community will evolve. It's a public venue of a sort of very bizarre family. New "kids" are being born every day. Sometimes we get a blue butt; sometimes we get a l33t d3wd who couldn't spell their name if they tried.
It will always change. Those of us, who have been here since it began, have also changed. Every new person changes it a little more, but you know what; without that? This place would be awfully boring.
My advice to anyone who is "sick" of things here.. Anyone who is "tired" of the way some people are behaving.. Anyone who is "upset" with the way someone's handling something.
Take a breath. Go read a book.
Walk. Away.
Come back and try to realize that everything you say here no matter how hard you try to make it sound a particular way, can and likely will be taken the wrong way by someone. You can never change that... and sometimes, you will never know it's happened.
Take a breather. Don't point fingers, and don't try to change the world. Change yourself first. That is the only thing we truly have control over.
Have some baked beans.
