The the death throws of a franchise. 3 did a pretty good job of killing off interest, but them adding in joke characters like this is just going to speed it up. (Link, Hihachi, and Spawn were good ideas right guys?)

Almost everyone I know that bought SC2 wouldn't not have if Link wasn't in it.

Well I was annoyed at their existence. As well as everyone else in my group of players. But different strokes for different folks I guess. At least having gimmick characters is better then make a fighter.

There's better fighting games anyways, so who cares about the death of a shitty franchise.

Yeah, God forbid that game developers add characters to a game that millions of people are familiar with.

Does it detract from any sort of competitive gameplay?

(Especially since if the gimmick character is unbalanced, it will pretty much be banned.)

It wasn't that bad, but it definitely wasn't good.

It was kind of like throwing up. You really want to do it and you feel better after you go through with it, but it's not really a pleasant experience.

At this point, I'm wondering what the hell happened at Namco.

The Tekken franchise has been utterly stagnant, and Soul Calibur is getting this.

Worse yet, there are still people who are buying these games. I wholely intend to try the game if I can get a demo, but I don't have much faith in this.

I love Tekken, it's definitely not stagnant. Hell, even 5 to 5 R added a ton to the game. It's become more and more realistic in its movements and representations so that now everyone is basically a flawless fighter of their style (With a special BS move or two) instead of having combat that really makes no sense.

Not at all. I'd fuck those tits' skin off. You know, if they were real. Or I was a secret character in SC4.

Hey, maybe that could be my finishing move! Do they still have those in fighting games? Though, that could get extremely gay, and in the case of Yoda, extremely erotic.

Street Fighter and Guilty Gear are kings in the 2D realm. I don't think there's any really good 3D fighters out there that are both balanced and fun.

I may love Tekken, and it holds more balance than other games, but I have a bias towards it. Soul Calibur always struck me as dumb. Having a fighting game with tons of differently ranged/powered weapons just leads to retarded imbalance.

And it's just not that fun.

To Faz: Dead or Alive died at 2 Ultimate. Unless they can bring it back to being awesome with 5, the series is gone. :[

Who knows though. Tekken 4 sucked really bad and 5 was ace.

Huh... that might explain why I have such a low opinion of Tekken. The last one I played was 4, and it did indeed suck ass...
