So my server just finished the gathering for the War Effort and... Nothing happens . The Blue ? leaves the last npc and the warlord babbles about in 5 days the war will take place.

Here I was hoping for a shout or something!

Here is a link to my guild site and the screenshots of what the retard says.

All this work just to have a shitload of level 1 alts camping Silithus.

They had some fun first before deleting. They first ported them to their bind points but some had bound in Cenarion Hold. Then they kicked them to their home towns (starter villages) and the ones that hearthed back to Cenarion Hold got boots to the opposite factions capital (alliance to Ogr, horde to ironforge). Then finally, they just decided to delete most of the alts who were causing trouble.

It's been a dilemma with them for awhile now.

Why did Medivh get so far ahead anyway? Big organization of guilds to farm or something?

Yeah.. Ascent (My guild) and Fury (Alliance guild) were both very interested in AQ so we organized everything completely. Our guild leader also is a Project Manager for a major software company so has quite a bit of experience in managing people so his orginzation is what really helped us.

Overall, we don't have quite as many Nefarian killing guilds as some other servers and most of the ones we had didn't help much. Most of the work was done by Ascent and Fury.

Reasons why I farmed? I got DKP

Can someone please give me a short overview of what happened?

I know about the war effort quests; turn in cloth and other low level crafting stuff to gain faction. But other than that, I know nothing. There was a limit? What's that talk about the level 1 chars in Silithus?

Alliance and Horde were each assigned a set of materials to turn in, up to a specified amount (a lot). Not just low level crafting stuff, either, but all the way up to runecloth and the higher level minerals and food.

In addition, a long and fairly difficult quest to obtain the hammer that can bong the gong outside the Scarab Wall was added, starting with the head off Broodlord Lashlayer. Many guilds may persue the quest, but once it's been completed nobody else can do it.

Once both sides have finished their materials quota and after a specified amount of time, the hammer bearer may then go to Silithus and bang the gong to open the gates and start the silithid war.

Brood of Nozdormu faction is involved somehow, I think in obtaining the hammer to bang the gong. Our server has finished the quest already and just needs to finish the farming.

The level 1's in silithus are idiots from other servers creating alts to check out the new content.

So far I've turned in:

~600 runecloth
420 mageweave
60 lean wolf steaks (!!)
80 peacebloom
60 purple lotus
80 tin
100 copper

I didn't farm any of it except the steaks and herbs. I'm such a packrat

On the upside, I now have about 100g and a TON of bank space on alts that I didn't have before.

Yeah. Our top Alliance guild, Fury, handled it. They completed it the day everyone else did when the read quest could be completed.

False. After the gates have been unlocked the quest is still available. You just don't get to be the one who opened the gates.

The main reason Medivh was so far ahead is they had two uberguilds research AQ beforehand and find out what was needed to open the gates, and farmed a good deal of it beforehand.

And as far as the quest..

Once you turn in the Broodlord Lashlayer's head, your have to collect 42,000 silithid carapace fragments from Silithus, 1-3 at a time from the elites to gain neutral reputation with the Brood of Nozdormu. After that's done, you see what happens at the closing of the gate (And how the sceptre was shattered by another FAGGOT ELF).

Then Nozdormu sends you to Azuregos, Eranikus and Vaelastraz to get the other peices entrusted to them. Azuregos gave his peice to a minnow that he gave special powers.. you have to craft an arcanite buoy, but first you have to learn to read draconic, but the pages were torn up by Dr. Weevil. After you collect them from UC, Stormwind, MC, Onyxia, BWL and Weevil himself, you also fight a giant chicken (kek) and eventually craft the buoy to summon Maws (lol jaws) and MAYBE incur the wrath of Neptulon.

Eranikus was corrupted, so some dumb druid sends you on a quest to purify him with nightmare shards from the portals and stuff.

And Vaelastraz was corrupted by Nefarian.. in fact, his peice was stolen by nefarian. The only way to get it back is to talk to Vael and kill Vael->Nef in less then 5 hours.

Insert lots of awesome items on the way. Look up "signet" on Thott. Signet ring of the bronze dragonflight. KEKEK Melee, tank and caster versions. All sexy. All obtainable after the gates are opened.

Or just maybe we worked together as a team very well, always had people farming the right stuff at the right time, and had better communication than the other servers.

It's funny, the moment it was clear we were going to win everyone started coming up with lame reasons why we are ahead.

A little cooperation goes along way. If it were to start over again from scratch I have no doubt Medivh would win yet again.

And Argent Dawn isn't too far behind you with minimal cooperation.

Guess them super old servers who've killed Nefarian a buncha times and have a zillion people just have more people to throw at the problem, eh?

Awarding DKP for turning stuff in doesn't hurt either. Heh.

Seriously though, it's a big accomplishment, and I'm glad they locked character creation on your realm.

No one knew what to exepect.Alot of people in my guild began a guild effort to farm for the Field Duty quests we thought would be available the first day of 1.9. Then we learned of the war effort. The reason the War effort did not happen on test was that the gates were opened from the get go. So no one knew about it. A lot of people though Zul'Jin would be first due to their work on test, but I'm glad we aren't first. Although we are high enough that we are going to get a swarm of level 1 alts who missed the show on medivh .

The servers the event isn't active on yet are the most recently created servers (Some as little as a few weeks old), not sure the exact reason Blizz turned it off for those ones, sure there is a relatively good reason

RPPVP servers are roleplaying PvP servers

They need to merge one of the smaller ones with Maelstrom, though, so that we'll be a high-full pop server. Blizzard isn't fond of full servers, though, so that's not happening.
