For me, it's a tossup between the shotgun (any game, single barrel only) and the Suck gun from R&C: Up Your Arsenal (I know Ratchet and Clank is a platformer, but it can be played as an FPS).

The stake launcher from Painkiller.

Fires a two-inch diameter, two and a half foot log fast enough to lift a man-sized target six feet in the air and pin it to a concrete wall.

AND it has a grenade launcher!

Between Tribes 1 and 2, I've gotten more kills with a spinfusor than any other game I've played. Mid-air hits aren't as satisfying as hitting someone just as they land on the ground.

Although I love the pistol in BF2 because it's great for taking out AV/Engineers outside of effective shotgun range. Just bring up the iron sights and unload into center mass.
