Wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute.

AVM = your city, right?

And one of the buildings in these shots (which were presumably taken in your city) is the "Dantooine Imperial Planetary Governorship."

So, uh, correct me if I'm wrong here, but do you effectively rule Dantooine?

Here's the RP (arrrrrr-pee) that goes with the upcoming event that these are for.

quote:
*** Office of Lord Kavol Avatar ***
*** Dantooine Imperial Command ***
*** For Immediate Holonet Release ***

*** Transmitting via Dantooine Imperial Communications Relay SR-2 ***

The remote planet of Dantooine is far removed from the luxuries of the inner worlds, such as glorious Naboo; a jewel in the crown of the Empire, or Corellia with its spiral clouds and stunning crystal swamps. However, out here on these unsecured rim worlds are where acts of bravery occur on a daily basis, the pacification of known Rebellion terrorists ever continuing.

Lord Kavol Avatar stunned other Imperial leaders a week ago by requesting that the Imperial Starburst, one of the highest awards for bravery within the Empire, be awarded to a little-known special forces trooper under his command. After careful consideration of the evidence transmitted to them, they have today announced that the award has been rightfully earned. This as yet unnamed trooper will become one of the rare few to so far be awarded. Reporters from the Holonet News Network were allowed to travel to Dantooine today, landing under escort within Avatar Metropolis' borders, and given persmission to create and dispatch this report to you; the loyal imperial viewers.

As you can see, the Empire has spared no cost in securing the stage where the award ceremony will be played out; the Imperial Governor's Mansion. We were not allowed within for strictly security reasons, as you can imagine the threat of terrorism would be quite high during an event such as this. While covering the entryway, we observed several Imperial technicians installing military-grade shield systems to protect the building itself.

Lord Kavol Avatar arrived late in the evening to oversee the final preperations himself, and although we were denied a detailed interview, he did have these few words to say, "The Rebellion will never triumph, acts of terrorism will never go unpunished, as long as the honour and bravery of Imperial troops remains steadfast. We will not bow to these murderers of innocents."

The exact time and date of the ceremony is being kept a closely guarded secret, but we have been allowed to remain within the city to cover it, albeit under guard. Expect another report on this fascinating story shortly afterwards.

This has been Ignig Ixosis, reporting for the Holonet News Network.

Just waiting for the voting to roll over. Remember it takes three weeks now.

Lovak is force-controlled by Kavol anyway, so it makes little difference.

There's a ruling party in the Imperial faction called COMPNOR, which is taken from the Expanded Universe and is made up of Imperial leaders who basically run the Empire for Palpatine (including his Grand Vizier which is basically like a sub-Emperor).

I am a COMPNOR Council Member, and the highest rank on Dantooine. Governorship of the planet falls to me. It's all roleplay but I am quite capable of backing it up with PvP.

I'll give some impressions from someone who's done EQ and EQ2.

First of all, both SWG and JTL expansion are $20 each at Wal-Mart.

From a personal standpoint about Mort and his guild:

The people I've met from Avatars that are not a part of Evercrest group are great people too. Avatar Metropolis is a friendly town (If you're of the Imperial faction anyway). Plus when roleplay comes up, it is well thought out and fun. There are RPer's from other guilds that I've been around with Kavol (Mortious) that are intriguing too. Before I even joined the guild, one of the Avatars let me move into her house briefly while I moved my gear from my 10day free account to my actual Station Account.

Now from a gameplay standpoint:
I've been concentrating on Jump To Lightspeed mainly right now. I love flying sims and this game is great. The Imperial quests are story driven. I started out flying missions killing pirates around Tatooine. It moves on to other missions that help keep an important piece of debris from the original Death Star out of Rebel hands and I'm currently a part of a secret mission by Shadow Squadron who is currently helping The Emperor's Hand in the Endor System.
I love it!

I've only done a few starting missions on the ground so I can't speak too much for that part of the game yet. I like it, but my heart is in the stars strapped to the seat of my TIE fighter. (only a mission or two from getting Interceptor and Bomber certified)

What I like is that it follows alot of the Star Wars lore and follows a storyline. I can group with higher skilled pilots and still get experience. The larger ships can take multiple people which only increases the fun factor.
Plus, IT'S NOT EQ. Once I tried SWG, I haven't logged back into EQ2 since. Don't know if I'll be going back either.
