Also, if a whole bunch less people are thenI think there are, then maybe it's time to rethink, and see if I've been going overboard.

Is it because he views Somthor as revenge on people like Bloodsage, like that pussy Cookies & Cream? No. I've never had a beef with anyone that I couldn't handle myself, like that pussy Cookies & Cream.

Is it because he thinks it's a bandwagon and inherently evil, like that pussy Cookies & Cream? No, bandwagons are far overblown and a ridiculous topic for flaming.

Is it because he is secretly paying Somthor to annoy people and thus solidify his powerbase? No.

It's obvious that flaming doesn't work on Somthor. Let it end. That's not surrendering to troll assaults, that's common sense. It's clear that Drysart doesn't consider him a threat, hell he probably likes keeping him about in some bizarre attempt to force us to accept people...or maybe he's just a sadist.

At this point, Somthor hasn't really done anything lately, and whether he realizes it or not, he's conformed enough to us to avoid a daily thrashing. He can say we've conformed to him, but the more intelligent will see differently.

So yeah. Ignore him and find a new hobby. Dwelling on something to this degree is just as stupid as Cookies & Cream. He's a real pussy.

the great thing about me is that there are so many me's

In answer to the question: No, I dont have him on ignore. Like Callalron I don't see a need to ignore anyone on these forums (although there are a number of folks who ignore me.. that's fine)

I just now make a conscious effort not to open any of his posts, or skim over any posts that he makes in the threads I read.

I see nothing wrong with me utilizing the board's function for the purpose for which it was intended. I ignored Burger until he straightened his act up. I am sure if Somthor stopped acting like a fool, I could do the same with him.

For what it is worth, Burger and Somthor are the only two I have ever had ignored. It takes a lot to tork me off that badly. Somthor pushed the buttons so I did the best thing.

It is hard to ignore him though when everyone quotes him all the time, and people are bitching about him all the time. I just keep ignoring him though, and I love the new feature where I don't have to see his threads.

I tend to skim thread responses unless it's something important. If it becomes the core of conversation, and halfway down the second page it's turned into all sorts of nasty flaming stuff, I will generally go back and see what was going on. But that's not something I do solely with Somthor. There was that Presidental Resume thread the other day; I read it when it was on it's first page, it looked like something I didn't want or need to get into, and I ignored it. Wasn't til the next day when all of Parcelan's interesting and amusing threads that I'd been enjoying no longer had a viewable "started by" name that I went looking for what happened.

Likewise, I don't dig ignoring people. I inevitably open the posts anyway. To this day, I've neither ignored (or to my knowledge been ignored by) anyone.

In other words, I think that Katrinity's right.

Likewise, and this is going to sound very stupid but bear with me, while I do think Somthor certainly has and at times does say horribly stupid things, he doesn't necessarily do it in every thread, or at least not to "OMG MUST...LAUNCH...THE BOMB!" levels. IF I respond, I rather prefer to do it like Vernaltemptress; Wait til he says something inane, offensive, or stupid, and handle it in that thread. What I don't do is go to literally every thread the guy's posted in in the last day and fire off a "I wish you would die, omg I want to see your head split open with an axe" type flame. Those are 1. needlessly disgusting, 2. make the person making such a post look stupid, and 3. they don't help the people with more effective points to expound upon. It ends up being the lynch mob mentality YET AGAIN, which is just stupid.

I've spent more time away from the boards because of the majority the Som-Haters, than I have for the stupidity of one person.
