GOD DAMNIT YOU ARENT HELPING.

I asked a guildmate just how long it should take to raise all the tradeskills to around 200 which is where they need to be.

a monthish.

Should only cost around 10k plat at the least, then about 10k for the velium hound furs...then...god.

I'll tell you what you do.

Pick ONE trade skill. Just one, but make it something that you can get some use out of beyond the prayer shawl quests. Cooking sounds fun.

Now, raise that. Once you've done so, ask yourself if you still think it's worth it. If so, pick the next skill, once again thinking of what ones you will use outside of this quest.

That way, if you change your mind part of the way through this quest, you won't have spent tons of plat on skills that you will never use again.

either way, its gonna be alot of time

You should at least gain some skill in cooking and brewing. Not to 200 skill maybe, but at least to 100.

That way you can sit there and munch on cookies and drink malted milk, and watch people's reactions.

Not to mention, unlike the stuff made with other craft skills, food and drink does not last forever. There will allways be a market for some of the better food/drink stuff, be it for parties or for stats.

I'd suggest getting baking up to 135 via batwings/fish. You'll earn skillpoints fast via uber int, and make a ton of NICE longlasting food, to boot.

After that, I dunno.

Tailoring is so horrible because your hamstringed by fooking drops. Don't it make sense that they should put tanners that would sell you the hides of animals in the area? Miners would sell ores. Of course the foraged stuff is crazy but kinda makes sense...but then again we are talking time sinks to keep us all from being ultra uber in 5 mins... right?

I would say 'No'

Now, I would say up Baking because, really, baking is fun

Plus you can create some darn crazy food

But really, 20k for a single item? And just how much of a bonus would said 20k get for you over the one you wear now?

Could that 20k be instead spent on a different item for a different slot that provides more of an overall bonus?

Do you really want to waste a month for it?

Since you can buy some components in the bazaar trades got easier.

If you are not guilded or in a small non-raiding guild go for it. If you're in a guild that does NToV+ just wait for something usable to drop.

IF you need FT badly you could just farm sewers and get some slime boots, yet it may take a month too, but at least you'll have made some nice xp while waiting.

Edit: I just saw you own an ODS, keep it, the advantages of FT3 over MP3 are little or none.

Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

Don't worry; Fal. The constant farming for silks and pelts to get tailoring up to that point should dissuade you more than any amount of money can.

Money is the easy part, all of the skills aside from tailoring can be brought up to near trivial level in no time.

Honestly if you went for the 8th shawl, 95% of your time will be spent working tailoring, or farming in WW for velium hound furs (assuming there is a lot of competition for them).

If you dont have the resources to raid in zones that give you a shot at shoulder items and you're serious about improving your character, yes, do it.

I have guild members that are still waiting on loot that use this. The focus effect and the FT3 are very important.

And despite what anyone tells you, the FT3 is important. It IS important. BTW, its important. Hey did I mention, its important?

Do one trade skills first. I did blacksmithing to 185 and I decided I could wait for my loot. I had to wait a LONG time though.

Its really up to you and if you can get FT some other way.

I'd say it's worth it. Mostly don't think of it as a replacement for the ODS. It is used in conjunction, ODS for casting, Shawl 8 for regaining mana.

Like the others said, work on one trade skill first. If it were me, I'd work talioring all the way up, then one of the hardest parts is out of the way.

Nah, the time would be spent buying said furs at 1k a pop (hence the 20k instead of the 10k i was quoted by a guildie to raise the skills needed

And if i were to buy this, id pick up an MP3 item for a different slot. And the thing is too, ALL FT would stack (from my earring, then from the shawl, and from FT3 boots which i may skip for Boots of bladecalling if velk ever drops em)

The stacking of FT makes it a hard decision, lol.

As for my guild, we are JUST NOW able to take down an NTOV dragon, ikatair. Dunno how long itll be till we can take more though, so i dont wanna count on that.

GAH. hard decisions.

Eashan and Iki are the easy guys in ntov. Aary is significantly more difficult.

The shawl of perception from ntov is a nice shoulder item, but still doesnt even come close to the 8th shawl.

I have to agree with Reynar.

Aary pretty much decides if you're getting into NToV or not. Some of the dragons behind him are easyier, some are harder but there is no NTOV without Aary!

So FT3, is 3 mana per tick. One below Clarity1.

So if Fal got 3 FT3 items, since they stack, that's 9 mana per tick.

Makes sense to me.

True. But 9 mana/tick is nothing to laugh at. Even if mana buffs are far superior, near the end-game area.
