To make a long story short, I created my own D&D world. The problem I've encountered though is that along the way I seem to have forgotten to come up with the gods of this world. So, I've decided to use the different personalities on this board, with the mind behind its permission.

A few is obvious, Mortious is going to be the god of decay and Mightion will be the god of justice and purity. I just need some help with the others. So I'm requesting that each person say which god they think they would best represent. NO commenting on other people's choices or suppling answers for others.

Basicaly she resides over the natural wild areas, and woodlands. The plants, animals, and other little beings that might live there (dryads, feys, fearies, elves, what ever you might have there)

she would be Chaotic Good and really good for druids and rangers to follow.

or Aanile goddess of Mirth and Love!

Chalesm (NG God of Peace) - A mender and healer, loved by all good people of the world.

Parcelan (NE God of Trickery) - A rogue and trickster to the point of hurting people. "Anything for a laugh".

Hehe, the stars as a collective entity, lords of the gentle light, patrons of astronomers, sages, children, lost people, and magic. Gods over guidance, light, and hope. Neutral Good(meaning that they are not concerned with law or chaos).
The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. Hello, my mushy friend...
posted 01-26-2002 08:52:47 PM
Khyron, god of the wilds.

This god is mainly worshipped by druids and rangers, and is honored by many wood elvs and such. Known to go by many forms, he is almost always in the guise of a predator... a black panther, a jaguar, a leopard, even seen as a wolf and cougar upon occasion, he is known to be the protector of nature. All those who seek to come to nature and respect it earn his protection, all those who seek to harm nature earn his hatred and contempt. Rarely seen, but his presence can always be felt in the sacred glades and clearings in any deep forest or jungle. Travellers who can live with respect for the land will find themselves well protected by his magic in these sacred areas, those who cannot respect nature will find certain, messy death.

His powers are next to nothing, however, in large cities or cleared forest. To damage his realm is to damage he himself, making his forests even more well guarded by himself and his followers.

(How's that, Ferret? )

Oh, and I'm going for a religion where the gods aren't serious, thus the gods I've seen so far that I'll probably use will be Kat, Zephyer and Arenn. The rest seem a little too serious.

Sorry Karnaj, I can't see many times where a god of massive anal bleeding would be worshipped.

Try Mana, Goddess of Mending. She tries to keep the universe held together, as magic tends to do nasty things to the fabric of reality in making wishes come true and giant balls of fire appear out of nowhere to waste a hoard of orcs. For her personality, you can look back in the D&D Forum to Bajah's game. Flighty little girl.

You could also do Pantaloon, God of Bards and Pranksters, but his name just doesn't quite work for a deity.

Palador Silverwing: God of magic and transformation. Looks over those that seek knowledge. Transformation also includes healing and life/death/rebirth, but these are not the main focus of this god (others do it better).

Palador is often described as a silvery Dragon with emerald green eyes, but changes shape to suit it's whims.

Has been known to assist other gods, including gods of healing, teaching/trickery, and creation.

Alignment: NG

I believe in the existance of magic, not because I have seen proof of its existance, but because I refuse to live in a world where it does not exist.
Solstyce
Vampiric pixie that might eat your face, if you're lucky
posted 01-26-2002 09:33:43 PM
Solstyce, Chaotic Neutral goddess of madness and wild magic.

Solstyce was once the gleaming, just patron goddess of the Pixie race. She elevated them to a place of power and prestige in the world, granting them their delicate, fay appearance and tremendous magical might. But in her motherly love for her own race, she turned a blind eye to their evils. She ignored it when pixie Archmages would kidnap others for their hideous experiments. She ignored it when the Mageocracy became corrupt and untrustworthy. She ignored it when magical training was denied for the poorer pixies, leaving them weak and fragile. But when one of her own arch-priestesses was involved in a dark deal with a criminal dragon, she could turn a blind eye no longer. Faced with the horrors her own race, her own children had comitted, she fled. Fled the pixies, fled the world, dripping bits of her sanity as she fled into a plane of dreams and nightmares now known by many names, the simplest simply the Plane of Insanity.

Solstyce rarely manifests physically, and when she does, it's not for a very long time. Her true form is one of a pixie with soft sky blue skin, at the same time both tiny and delicate and infinitely large. Her wings are no longer the delicate membranes they were, but wing-shaped appendages if swirling, rainbow-colored light, flaring with every color imaginable and some that were never seen before. Solstyce is a notorious shapeshifter, oftentimes switching forms with each breath, turning into strange hybrids and creatures that shouldn't be able to live at all. Her Plane is a swirling, shifting place, her own will keeping it from stabilizing. There is no firm place, nothing permanent there.

Solstyce has no concept of justice or fairness. She does not discern between good or evil, barely even recognises the two. Oftentimes, she will pick a person, from king to peasant to anything intelligent enough to understand her, and simply expose them to herself. She shows them her mind, her millions of mad, unknowable thoughts. Being exposed to this is oftentimes too much for a mortal to take, and their minds are snapped along with hers, and they speak the same mad truths and lies as she does.

It could be said that all madmen are her chosen ones, her prophets and priests, and all places of wild magic are her temples and holy areas, but truth be told, Solstyce dosen't care. She is every mental complex, every insanity, every little madness all in one, and though her influence is often shunned, it is nevertheless always present, everywhere.

Shhh. Everyone will hear us. Everyone will know.

As for my own part...

Ezra, Goddess of trust.
Neutral Good

This deity in shining armor wields a runed scimitar of most unusual power. Ezra herself, while powerful, always glances over her shoulder before doing anything decisive. This is her way of seeking her "companion", a being of no physical form, and ultimately the wiser part of her fractured whole. (Find the mortal character here.)

Ever innocent in nature and behaviour, Ezra will believe nearly anything that is told to her in a polite and pleasant manner. It is only after consultation with her noncorporeal half that she considers the possibility of being deceived... even in the face of conflicting tales. Her abilities manifest primarily in an uncanny ability to find exactly what she is looking for, head in the right direction seemingly by accident, and other forms of obsurd good fortune.
