I worked my ass off on a Rage camp for 3 days for my roommate, including losing sleep, distancing myself from my guild AND losing out on items that would have defaulted to me on a fear raid.

*NOW* the fucking change it?!? Thanks a whole motherfuckin lot. Bastards.

This is bad. Plain and simple.

Cleric #1 gives pearl to Merchant Zordak.

Dragon Zordak spawns.

Cleric #2 KSes him.

Cleric #1 is stuck with a pearl that won't spawn Zordak.

Zordak camp line on Prexus was actually respected. This'll open up new unneeded possibilities for KS. They could just have made him spawn more often, or instant triggered, if they really wanted to fix the tension and bottleneck, damn fuckheads!

It's worse.

Where does Zordak2 spawn? Zordak1 spawns in Sol B in a "random location" (meaning multiple high-level groups camping things for their cleric, increase in zone pop) and despawns when handed the pearl. Zordak2 spawns INDEPENDANTLY of Zordak1... where? In Lavastorm? In Sol A? In Naggy's Lair? Where?

If Zordak2 spawns in LS and is independant spawn of Zordak1, if he's a roaming aggro mob, they fucked LOTS of people. My guild abuses the LS ring for convience of location to EC and Neriak. Neutral ground for evils and goodies alike. Now we might have to worry about a level 55+ Clerical Epic mob comming up??

The only thing stupider I can see them doing is making the spoon for the chanter epic No Drop and saying it was an oversight in the original quest layout.

I think you guys are misunderstanding the change. The new version removes the potential for a KS that existed that would cause the cleric to need to redo stuff. It also removes the need for Nagafen to be down first.

Also, where does it say LS?

I really don't understand how you could think this new version is worse.. I for one am really glad this is changing. I was not looking forward to the nagafen lair camp with my cleric.

I thought you'd know how the camp is respected on some servers... But now it seems to just add one opportunity to steal (hand-in or kill) and sounds real iffy.

The isolation from Naggy's spawn table is a nice change however.

Things to point out:

  • I don't think the spawn is random, but just in another place. I can't think of a good place to fit a big dragon other than the lair though. ('Zordak spawn in freeti! Don't push him in the lava aieeeee!')

  • Before you had 3 clerics in line with a shimmering pearl, waiting for Zordak to spawn to hand in and kill the dragon. Now you have 3 clerics in line with swirling pearls, waiting for Zordak to spawn and kill him and dragon. Any difference?

It seems to be ADDING a KS opportunity, Rowyl; though granted I've never been on a Ragefire camp. The other posters are right; what's to stop another guild from KSing Zordak when the pearl is handed in?

I don't see how this would lessen the bottleneck, either. You'll just have more people camping all through Sol B now, with more chances for rudeness.

Feel free to enlighten me, though; I'm just calling it as it appears to me reading the announcement.

I'm confused. My head hurts. I hate epic quests.

Ok, so you turn in your pearl to the merchant zordek - he gives you a swirling pearl and the killable zordek appears "somewhere else" immediately. However, the killable zordek also spawns independently every few days in addition to the "triggered" version.

Another but... but even if you kill the timed killable zordek, you still need the turn in pearl from the merchant to combine in the heart box from the dragon zordek.

So instead of one bottleneck, they've created the possibility of two? You have to wait on both merchant and killable zordek now.

AND THEN, FINALLY, GETTING THE CAMP AGAIN AND SPENDING ABOUT THREE DAYS WITH NO SLEEP BECAUSE OF SOME STUPID SENSE OF MORALITY BY NOT ASKING FRIENDS, WHO WOULD HAVE GLADLY DONE IT, TO CAMP HIM FOR YOU WHILE YOU SLEPT. FINALLY NAPPING FOR THREE OR FOUR HOURS AND MANAGING TO LUCK OUT BY HAVING THE CAMP EMPTY WHEN YOU LOG BACK ON. AND, THEN, HAVING RAGEFIRE SPAWN AT THREE IN THE FRIGGEN MORNING AND SPENDING TWO HOURS BITING YOUR NAILS BECAUSE NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE ARE ON.

Ahem. Sorry. That's been almost eight months in the making. I still wake up in a cold sweat screaming, 'Ragefire!' and, to this day, refuse to step foot in solb. It's even painful to step into Lavastorm.

I agree, and to me the biggest part of the change is this:

The appearance of this NPC will no longer require the absence of Lord Nagafen.

I could never understand why this was put in place, having a level cap on an epic sucks.

At least bards have Gorenaire for the white scale if they got to powerful for vox. But cleric were always screwed in that they had to find someone to drop naggy.

Now finally they cant say "sorry, you are too strong to complete this part of the epic"

I see this as a very positive change.

You guys are "adding" stuff and assuming stuff that is inaccurate.

The Dragon Zordak does not spawn in SolB. The Dragon Zordak is not triggered or timed in anyway that is connected with the Merchant Zordak. The Dragon Zordak just spawns once every 4 days (except on server downs where it's 1-3 days). If the Dragon Zordak is KSed then you just wait for him to spawn again.

I seriously think you people are trying really hard to not understand this change. You are going to great lengths to "think" it is worse instead of better.

SolB is now at worst a 1 day camp. The Dragon Zordak is a 4 day, but you don't have to sit there waiting on a random spawn. Everyone who cares on a given server will -know- when the next Zordak Dragon will spawn on that server. So you just log in a little before that and have at it.

ok.. so Ragefire is now 2 camps instead of just one...

hmmm... I dont know. Now we'll have to sit in Skyfire instead of cramped in SolB. Watching a timer instead of sitting there waiting. ( Which we will still be sitting there waiting for in Skyfire anyway to "claim" the spawn ) Guilds will still be on a mad rush to kill Dragon Zordak. The KS is still possible as the object was to kill Dragon Zordak, the Merchant version is not a problem due to the fact it is a 1 day wait.

So basically... GMs will be in BOTH Skyfire and SolB because of clerics that dont want to wait their turn in line or a guild that flies in at the last second for the KS. ( Do you know how quickly you could get a KS group into Skyfire? )

I dont know... I'll have to wait and see. I've done the Ragefire camp a few times. This could either be better or worse. But removing the Naggy problem is nice.

It's called 'epic' for a reason. You're not entitled to an epic weapon.

Thats like saying it's stupid that they put the really good loot on Vulak instead of on Emporer Crush.

This is one instance where Risk vs. Reward makes a little sense. Yes yes...dont bother to quote me on all the times it 'doesnt' make sense, I'm aware of them

Edit: Rowyl...will the Zordak in skyfire carry the normal loot plus the cleric piece? Or will it just be the cleric epic box?

If he does carry the normal loot table read: Cof's....he will be constantly chain killed by 4-5 level 60s to farm CoFs. I can almost guarantee this =p I hope for the clerics sake, he only drops their piece.

You don't have to be uber to kill in Skyfire heh, you just need a little common sense. There are several areas in that zone where you can setup (one right near the port in, in fact) and pull Zordak when he spawns.

Pull without adds? I can think of 2 people in my guild who could get that done, and I'm one of them. The other is the level 58 SK we have (and he's better than I am hands down).

Plus the fact that you have to be AT his spawn point to claim him. Just being in zone won't cut it. This means that there is the possibility of dealing with Guardian Wurms (level 60 to 62) and other nice crap. Dealing with things in SolB was just the FG's. That's a single group ONCE EVERY 4 to 6 Hours. The cleric will have to have a full group 24/7 to keep the DZordak spawn in Skyfire.

Plus, all that's happened is that you've split the camp up. If MZordak spawns in 'random locations' in Sol B then you're going to have multiple clerics there trying to get the first piece and then you have a single contested spawn in Skyfire for the rest of it.

Of course this does allow for some Out of Order completion, which is a bit nicer than the normal swquence.

Really? When we used to kill Talendor we had our ranger pull it, from the safe spot it was about a 5 minute pull from the time she got him till when she got back into camp.

Wanna know the trick? Walk around the monsters

Monsters in Skyfire will not assist other mobs, they will only aggro on a target specifically, so if you dont get to close, you are fine.

Yes this means you have to take detours sometimes, but that's part of the challenge.

Zordak in skyfire will be a 4 day spawn, not really something you can camp, people will know when hes due next, those who need him will mobilize a force and go after him, simple as that.

If he drops real loot though (CoFs), I think he will become the new Lodizal (possibly the worst risk vs reward mob in the game).

All I can say is, I hope your server has well defined rules of engagement when it comes to claiming mobs.
