The Tekken franchise has been utterly stagnant, and Soul Calibur is getting this.
Worse yet, there are still people who are buying these games. I wholely intend to try the game if I can get a demo, but I don't have much faith in this.

R added a ton to the game. It's become more and more realistic in its movements and representations so that now everyone is basically a flawless fighter of their style (With a special BS move or two) instead of having combat that really makes no sense.

I may love Tekken, and it holds more balance than other games, but I have a bias towards it. Soul Calibur always struck me as dumb. Having a fighting game with tons of differently ranged/powered weapons just leads to retarded imbalance.
And it's just not that fun.
To Faz: Dead or Alive died at 2 Ultimate. Unless they can bring it back to being awesome with 5, the series is gone. :[

Huh... that might explain why I have such a low opinion of Tekken. The last one I played was 4, and it did indeed suck ass...
