This is looking like more of an expansion pack with new units and improved graphics than it is a new game. Which I'm sure that will make some people happy.

Squad-based commands instead of individual units would be nice.

Hey, HEY!

Don't forget that in Codex: Eye of Terror, GW turned right around and ripped off Blizzard with their plague of undeath.

Also the Tau post-date the Protoss and are pretty much the same damn thing.

Hmm I always thought the Protoss had more in common with the Eldar.

I did notice the Space Marines in the screenshots are no longer looking like the WH40K Space Marines, they seem slimer, and with sheilds and bayonets.

SC was just a modified version of the WC2 engine, so it doesn't seem like much of a surprise that SC2 is a modified version of the WC3 engine. Lets hope the game is a bit more than that and takes some pointers from Dawn of War and Company of Heroes.

Considering the announcement was in Korea it seemed obvious that the new game was a Starcraft title, but I was really hoping for a new Blackthorne or Rock N'Roll Racing game also being announced.

Tau had a rigid caste system, just like protoss. Tau were a communal race, just like protoss. Their technology even has a similar style.

Yeah, what I thought when I saw the gameplay shots and video has been summed up pretty well in this thread.

It looks like a shiny Starcraft 1 on War3's engine.

If there's anything Blizzard knows, it's how to apply the lessons learned from the mistakes and the successes of other games to their own

edit: if that's the warcraft 3 engine it's been very heavily improved

Wow, the cinematic trailer is all kinds of awesome.

I am so unbelievably excited about this, only reason I am not still playing Brood War to this day is because of the lack of a warcraft 3 style matchmaking system. Dredging through all the "$$$ no clutter no rush 45min moneybghxtreme" in order to get a game going was just entirely too tiresome

I also approve of the new wraith design that accounts for the fact they can hover in place

Like me and Batty said last night.

As long as it doesn't use the faggoty parts of WC3, it'll be great. It's already pretty obvious it won't have retardedly low unit caps in place. Now, if it also doesn't have stupid rock-paper-scissors style armor and damage either, it'll be set. I can live with resource upkeeps, those were just a minor annoyance than a huge pile of shit.

If they are still going to call it that. I've heard the korean guy referred to as the V. Tech Shooter.

What I really wanna see is the Sci-fi version of DOTA Icefrog or Eul churns out on the new engine. I mean, if they can do that crazy shit on WC3 Engine, SC2 should be better. Also, I hope they allow custom games to use the WC3 unit graphics.

I picked up this cheesy one called Fairy Tale Tycoon the other day where you're a fairy godmother maintaining her potion empire, teehee.

It's far worse than that. There were people who petioned to have the 911 emergency phone number changed.

This is correct. The attacks were planned to happen whenever everything was ready and not a moment later.

Stalling for a particular day would have been spectacularly stupid.

Not things as extremely time-sensitive as three coordinated airplane hijackings.

So, why can't it be time sensitive and still have them plan it for a day with the same numbers as emergency?

Seems just as easy to plan something for 9/10 as 9/11.
