So, that thing (and the riding skill for it) cost how much again? Something like 5k Gold?
Level 225 riding skill = 800g (need this for 60 percent flyers, and to train 300 skill)
Level 300 Riding skill = 5000g
280% speed mounts = 200g (60 percent mounts are only 100g)
So yeah, if you just dinged level 70, you could spend 6k gold and immediately get the fast flying mount. But, if you don't have 6k right at 70, you can spend the 900g to get the 60 percent flyer to be able to reach the flying-only-areas.

I can't really understand how you arrived at that conclusion, since the epic windriders look almost identical to the non-epic ones, only with a big goofy mask and colanders over their eyes.

And armor on the tail, legs, over the back, and have a better idle flying animation.
Those "Colanders" that are over their eyes are to protect them in battle as you tear through alliance. Gore in the eyes is a definate dismounter.

Honestly, my gold making capacity went up since i got it (Already passed 1500g with light farming. And I've been off most of this week and don't play the AH).
Flightpaths are obsolete with it unless you want to go afk. And you can go from corner to corner in outland in maybe 10m or so.
My only suggestion is to get a riding crop made (1 small prismatic, 6 arcane dust, 1 primal might, 4 (heavy?) knothide leather), as it makes a gigantic difference.

And none of it will ever stack with flying form either, so at best its a gimmick that wastes a new spell slot in TBC. I fully admit that being able to use it in combat would be rediculously OP, but most classes get abilities that maintain their usefulness, whereas flight form gives you a temporary advantage that gets overtaken through your normal game progression anyway.

It was such a pointless kneejerk reaction. We'll all be back to Arc/Fire builds inside of a month at this rate.

I considered it more a "Hand of God takes pity on you" situation than something you can reasonably expect to happen often.
Still, this nerf makes me wonder if I shoud respec to get Frostbite - right now, FN is the only way I have to freeze a target for those sweet Ice Lazer crits.
