+Defense items.

Everyone gets hit by this, stop acting like Warriors are some great big nerf target.

Edit Er, wait, I don't know if that'll kill Paladin safe fall or not, but sorry Priests.

Still a moot point, bucko. You're still top Defense; everyone else fell just as far as you did, by 33%. Your 33% just happens to be larger, you know, because you had more of it.

Wait, you? Are you even a fucking Warrior?

I have an alt. And warrior nerfs affect everyone. Because to get back that 1/3 def they lost they are going to have to sacrifice other stats. Thus making them less durable and more difficult for them to keep agro.

Warriors are the only ones that get hit by it directly. Everyone else just has to deal with it in a secondary nature. There are going to be warriors that are going to have to spend a week or two just to find enough def gear to replace all that they lost from this.

Previously, you were able to put up a level one PW:S and jump off any cliff and live. You could also put up defensive stance and jump off any cliff and live as a warrior, too.

Gone are the days when you can get an eye of Kilrogg ANYWHERE with a simple PW:S and a longass jump.

It's a nerf to raid tanks everywhere, because there's no reason that anyone other than a raid tank would wear a significant amount of defense gear.

It'll make tanking highend stuff quite a bit harder, as far as our MT said.

The recipes for said flasks are pretty rare in themselves and you need to make a run through scholo in order to use the alchemy lab and combine 400 different herbs into one flask. If you have a lot of time on your hands, it is worth it for places like MC/BWL if you are guaranteed not to die (pre-patch). And I still don't see them being used in places other than this post-patch due to the cost of the mats.

The mats for Supreme Power in particular aren't that rough, just pure herbs, no stonescale oil or cap...

And I imagine there would be a large market for more spell ownery for all those lone wolf honour farming mages in pvp

Or heck, even the suicide aoers

Hmm... let me glance through the notes here and try to count up buffs/nerfs here.

Druid: 1 big buff to cat form, 1 other buff, 1 nerf. (Moonfire stun.)
Hunter: Too many changes here to really set down a number.
Mage: 1 buff (being able to target Blizzard/FS on the run will be a huge boon to frost mages or people with PoM).
Paladin: 1 BIG buff, 1 bug fix (?), 1... uh... what's Divine Favor do?
Rogue: 3 buffs, 2 nerfs. (Global weapon switch cooldown, mace stun resist.)
Priest: 3 buffs.
Shaman: 1 (minor) buff.
Warlock: 4 definite buffs, 3 quasi-buffs, 1 bug fix, 1 nerf. (Inferno stun resist.)
Warrior: 4 buffs, 5 nerfs. (Stun effects, Retaliation, global weapon switch cooldown, +DEF items.)

So, alright, at first glance, I guess rogues made out slightly better than warriors did, but they hardly did better than everybody else. Or did I miss something?

Probably because we're pretty balanced and don't need drastic nerfing. And we have been nerfed. Little things, yes, but they still impact playstyle and therefore cause us to readjust.

And quite frankly, warriors have nothing to complain about. They're one of the most wanted classes for PVE, they're one of the more powerful group PVP classes, what the hell else do you want? Oh no, we rogues can stun, yeah let's nerf stuns because warriors don't get a long stun like those stupid rogues do! Even though a warrior in valor can walk away with a crapload of hitpoints and crush my skull with their arcanite reaper after the cheapshot wears off. Forget about that. That cheap shot is lethal and should be done away with right now.

That +def change? People will adjust. Yeah warriors will cry about it for awhile, but then they'll move on. Honestly, warrior itemization is great. So you got a little +def nerf? Go cry about it to the mages, priests, and warlocks, I'm sure they'll LOVE to hear it. Yeah, especially the mages, who end up wearing blue PVP gear over their arcanist set. Oh, I think you should add in the little bit about the Unstoppable Force nerf. Yeah, they'll sympathize with you there. Totally.

Seriously, maybe if this was the beginning of release I'd understand warrior complaints. But it's not, and right now warriors are pretty much a touch more overpowered than other classes.

Yes, I'm pretty bitter right now about walking away from a game where a warrior in valor and an arcanite reaper did exactly what I described above. Tore me apart. I am using a freaking perdition's/wearing nightslayer and bloodfang. I will state this: a well-played warrior will generally defeat a well-played rogue. Of course you get gear/effort/blahblah that mixes in, but those don't always tell the final outcome.

Mr. Parcelan
posted 08-20-2005 07:36:57 AM
I'm not complaining about Warriors at all. Just because it's my main class doesn't mean it's the only class I play.

I'm fairly satisfied with Warriors, too. If anything, the Rogues are the one bitching about Warriors because it's the one class they have trouble with. Every day there are tons of posts on the general forums about how unbalanced Overpower is and how unfair it is that Orc Warriors can resist stuns.

But hey, way to jump to conclusions.

Warriors have nothing to complain about yet.

They're still a bit overpowered thanks to stupid mechanic flaws and horrible itemization.

p.s. cry more addy, we really care you (rogue) lost to an arcanite reaper wielding warrior. oh no wait we don't. You think your MC gear is going to have that huge "omg I can't lose to a Non-epic-geared-warrior now" effect or something?

I told you faggots that warriors were too powerful in PvP a while ago and until they change the way instant attacks work as well as stop making stupidly slow high DPS two handers, you can expect them to stay that way.

Feel I should point out that PvP was designed in mind with paper scissor rock style balance where each class inherently has classes he has all the advantages against and classes that they should avoid like the plague because they will get reamed in a fair fight.

Rogues can pick and choose their battles and should be picking and choosing not to fight warriors because warriors are a hard counter to them in a fair fight. Amazing gear on the part of the rogue will offset some of it but the warrior is still designed to just trump the rogue.

Quite frankly, I don't see how warrior will ever reach a balanced state. Mudflation is a big reason as to why they've grown stronger and stronger since relase. Until Blizzard puts a stop to mudflation, which doesn't look like it'll happen anytime soon, or they start balancing with it in mind, which I doubt will happen, warriors will continue to grow stronger.
