Good Luck! Remember... No matter how funny they are, don't laugh!
That's why I'd never last in boot camp. If someone is in my face in a situation like that screaming their heads off and inventing curse words on the spot, I wouldn't be able to help but break into uncontrolable laughter.

Led, when you get back, post more!. diadem fucked around with this message on 01-10-2005 at 09:35 AM.
Good luck, and stay alive. We look forward to hearing from you post-lockdown.
And they arent 'technically' allowed to swear at you or around you. My RDC (Navy talk for DI) once got into trouble because a recruit filed a grievance about the division being refered to collectively as 'dummies'.
And Lackland? Air Force boot is one of the easiest from what I hear.

Air Force is military light.

Listen to me...I sound like a recruiter.

Katrinity obviously shouldn't have said:
When compared to Marines or the Army, yeah, the Air Force Boot is probably alittle easier (coupled with the fewer weeks spent there, if I remember right) but that doesn't make it any less tough. It is no cakewalk. It is meant to temper the raw material the drill instructors receive.Listen to me...I sound like a recruiter.
I understand, but I was just making a statement based on what my own military friends have told me.
If you go into it knowing you are going to be dealing with mind games, and able to roll with the punches, you'll do just fine. There are evolutions in basic training that are designed that the recruit fails.
The physical aspect is easy. Its pretty much standard. A mile and a half run in a certain time period, and a certain amount of pushups and situps. The hard part is the sleep depravation and the stress that the whole program is based upon.
But they have to let you get at least 4 hours of sleep a day. Its in the instruction.

I wasn't refering to your comments, Az. ^.^
I was referring to Naimah's statement. And that's what I meant about tough. The physical is tiring but nothing super hard unless you're really out of shape. Its the pyschological mind games that can drain you. And those are the same for all the various branch boot camps.

Unfortunately, them too I break out if I eat too many as if I was allergic to them, so I moderate how much chocolate I eat. Lucky for Sage, he gets whatever I don't eat

From My understanding, all parts of the Armed Forces are not supposed to swear at all.

Yeah, that is pretty much me right there too...
Well, that and the whole sleep deprivation thing. Anything less than 8 hours for more than a single day in a row and my brain just ceases to function at nothing even resembling useful. 10 hour of sleep is required if you expect me to operate as a human being for any appreciable length of time
Best of luck Led!
