Half is the two four thingy
Sandwich filling is corned beef
dead man one is prince
Say you'd never seek to lose me
While you live we cannot part
I must dwell lifelong inside you
Locked within you beating heart
BLOOD
I cannot be other than what i am
Until the man who made me dies.
Power and glory will fall to me,finally,
Only when he last closes his eyes
PRINCE
Two in a whole and four in a pair
and six in a trio, you see?
And eights a quartet, but what you must get
Is the name that fits just one of me
HALF

I'm still mad about Sirius, though. He was my favourite.

He'll be back, somehow. Luna basically clued you in on that at the end of Phoenix.

So quoth Noxhil:
Why does it take them 6 months after the manuscript is completed to get the book out?
You have to:
set up the printing
Get the art together
prepare the publicity
get enough printed copies to satisfy demand (which i wouldnt doubt they have been working on already)
different formats (as in paper soft storytelling popup etc)
merchindising and etc to go along with it
and a vast amount of editing and more probably..
but maybe they just want to make people squirm and go insane for the book to come out till a riot starts..

It would be amusing if she died before writing the last book that ties it all up.
Actually, she's said that she's already written most of the final book long before most of the others.
So, if she keeps those notes in plain view, if she dies, it should be relatively easy for an executor of her estate to figure out the basic plot line, and get a writer to stitch things together.

So it's normal for books to take 6 months from the time the manuscript gets in? I don't know anything about this which is why I'm asking.

aye.. with anything having a global timeframe you bet your sweet bippy that they are doing everything they can to keep it perfect

*squeak!* I missed that part!

I looked up the scene he's talking about, and I dont agree with what he said, she said that he will be able to see Siris again just like she'll be able to see her dead mother, I dont see that as evidence that Siris is coming back.
quote:
"... And anyway, it's not as though I'll never see Mum again, is it?""Er -- isn't it?" said Harry uncertainly.
She shook her head in disbelief. "Oh, come on. You heard them, just behind the veil, didn't you?"
"You mean..."
"In that room with the archway. They were just lurking out of sight, that's all. You heard them."
They looked at each other. Luna was smiling slightly. Harry did not know what to say. Luna believed so many extraordinary things... yet he had been sure he had heard voices behind the veil too..."
Dunno Malkav, seems pretty obvious to me that he'll make a return in SOME form or another. It's hinting blatantly at something important.
I'm glad I got to this thread before Deth. He hasn't finished Phoenix and I imagine there are some others out there who haven't either.

Thought he talked with Dumbledore about it, who said there's no way to come back. I'm kind of with Noxhil on this one; I think it was Rowling's way of trying to tell kids there's an afterlife. They may have a scene later on where he gets to talk with Black somehow, but I can't see Rowling giving out a 'get-out-of-death-free' card.
Was anyone else besides me kind of mad that Harry could have avoided the whole thing by using the mirror that Sirius gave him instead of traipsing off to go rescue him? I know... story progression and all that but grrrrr.
hope I used the spoiler tag right...

Book 5 is fairly old.

I suppose the people that would care awhole lot about spoiler text would already have read it.Book 5 is fairly old.
It's a thread with the book six title in it, so people expect talk about book six, not having five ruined for them.
And did you miss where I said I was glad I got to this first? Deth hasn't finished it. And I'm sure there are others who haven't.

Actually, and I apologise for nitpicking, but a thread about an upcoming book in a series? It would stand to reason that the thread would contain information of what people think might happen in the book by discussing the plot so far. AKA, discuss 1 through 5 and make hypotheses about what to expect in 6.
So, honestly, anyone coming into this thread should expect either spoilers about 1-5 or spoilers for 6, which I doubt even exist.
So....
Happy Holidays!

And any threads containing HP discussion in the past have made it clear they either wouldn't have spoilers and would have open discussion, or they had spoiler tags used. So it's a logical conclusion to think spoiler tags would be used. It's common practice.

Common sense Lyinar, common sense...
I agree with you that spoiler tags are important for new things and I never have a problem with that. For things that have been out for quite a long time, I see no real need for them. If someone hasn't read a book or seen a movie in the amount of time already passed, then they obviously aren't THAT interested in experiencing it for themselves.
That'd be like someone not watching any of the LotR movies or read the books getting mad because someone was talking about what happened and they hadn't gotten around to reading or seeing any of it. It's been around a long time, if they were really interested in revealing the plot on their own, they would have had plenty of time to do it by now.
I really mean no offense or rudeness when I say this, as I respect Deth and yourself a great deal. I just think if you go into a thread talking about what's to come in a series and don't expect past plot discussions, then you're daft.
My sister and I are ridiculous fans!

You can have a past plot discussion without giving everything away. We've done it many times in the past, especially with books. It's a matter of respecting others and just throwing around something huge like that is not respecting others.
Not only have you ruined it now for current fans who haven't read that particular book, you've ruined it for new fans who may have just read one book, or seen the movies, or never read the books or seen the movies at all.
You can say "Well they would have read it by now if they were going to" all you want, but you've taken away the wonder, shock, delight, whatever they might have had when they got to that portion.
Think of it like this, and I'll use a very common example. Would the events of FFVII in relation to Aeris have shocked and made people cry, if they had all been blabbed about before then? Lyinar Ka`Bael fucked around with this message on 12-22-2004 at 04:33 PM.
