Is it ok for guys to cry?

I mean, I don't know, I just seem to have this bad habit of doing it. It's like, i get all stressed, and then I have like an emotional breakdown. It happens especially with competition (I have a hard time relaxing =/).

But my question is, is it just socially inacceptable and weak for a man to cry, period?

Grammar is your enemy! - While being able to understand someone's sentences might seem like a good idea for a proper essay, complaining on a forum scarcely leaves time for such trivialities. Write fast! You're angry, grrr! Make that show, and forget about things like capital letters, punctuation, and verbs.

It takes a big man to cry, but it takes an even bigger man to laugh at that man.

I think it's okay. I mean, I know guys who cry for the same reasons you do. I myself don't cry very often, just cause I hold it all in. (which is BAD! ) And I'm a girl. o.O So, yeah, crying makes you feel better most of the time anyways.

It's fine, since once you are done crying, you aren't technically a man anymore, and all future cryings become easier

Frail, unmanly emo kids!! *taunt taunt taunt*

But yeah. Go ahead. Actually, why give a damn about it? It's your emotions; so long as you don't end up hurting someone, get them out however you damn well please. Crying, yelling, getting really drunk, tearing down walls, it's all good. It's your choice. Who cares if it's manly?

I haven't cried in nine months. I guess it all boils down to if you think it's worth your while to cry. It was worth my while nine months ago, but it's not now. So....yes.

I think it matters what the situation is. If a guy's all stressed out its ok for him to break down and is in fact pychologically healthy. On the other hand, I don't know if it's healthy if you cry for every little thing. I mean, missing X-2 X-Men United's opening day isn't something you should cry over.

If it's one thing in a long line of bad things that happened to you and you just can't take it anymore and it builds up and yeah, it's OK.

Not every situaiton is alike, but generally, if you feel you've gotta cry, cry.

As long as you do it in secret, sure.
Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

Crying for men to me, is a kinda graduated thing.

I'll only cry if I've gone through something worse than anything before it.

so for me to cry, I have to go through some catastrophic shit, because I've already been through more bad than I'd frankly like to say.

so yeah, I cried a lot as a kid, the older I got, the more shit I went through, the more shit I went through, the less and less I cried, its just those rare spikes of trauma that'll do it, and then it has to be upstaged for it to happen again.

It's a natural release of emotion. It's societies fault for not allowing men to cry. I do it. I'm not any less of a man. I have even this past week. I just don't want to go into why, but I think in todays day and age, it's OK for a man to cry.
