True, yet which of those two would have no problems running DAoC? Or play EQ on their regular server? Or play Renegade? Or any of the dozens of other PC-only games out there?
I'd take ugly and functional over pretty and useless anyday.

So, what would you call that little laptop? It certainly wouldn't act as a server. You've, by your own words, discounted using it for games. Any serious art worker would use a desktop, especially since a desktop (even/especially, whichever you choose, a Mac of one) can offer quite a bit more power than a laptop and a larger monitor that makes the task easier. Perhaps an artist on the go, but using a touchpad for anything like that seems like raw shit in a can.
So, what purpose does it serve? In every major purpose one can use a computer for, a laptop falls behind. It's nice to take around easily, but any serious computer user would always fall back on a more powerful and more capable machine to do most of their work, whatever that would be.

Video editing and creation.
Once again The Mac takes the win here. I have nice software built into the OS (iMovie) and the best software on the market is FinalCut Pro. Which is Mac only.
So despite the fact that pretty much everyone who does Pro level Graphics art or Video useses a MAC we all know Maradon thinks he is right because he found a 5 month old article that sounds more Bias than AMD doing a review of an Intel chip.
PCs have thier place, Macs have thier place. And like it or not both are better at some things than the other. Pcs are better for games and general idiot use(lets face it an average home user doesn't need to spend the money on a Mac). Macs are better for Graphics design, etc.
I use a dual 1GH system and a 2.4GH PC. I can tell you that the Mac is a hell of a lot better than the PC for that kind of use. The only thing I use my PC for now is games and Surfing the net. Although with the release of Apples new Browser that will probably change.
Yes Hardware is expensive. More so than it should be. And no they can not match the raw speed of a current High end PC. However that does not change the fact that the Mac PERFORMS better at some functions.

Umm That was my whole Point. It is much more efficient for the Mac. No there is nothing wrong with the PC version. The Mac version is just better.
