Personally, I think you're looking at a shitty comparison
If you want something rugged and outdoorsy, go Jeep.
If you want something sleek and sporty, go Spyder.
Two totally different types of vehicle.
While rugged and outdoorsey is cool, I seriously doubt any good offroading opprotunities will present themselves in the normal course of my life.
This thing looks like it'll get better fuel economy, and has that spiffy sportronic transmission.

Maradon XP painfully thought these words up:
After much deliberation, I've decided I'm either going Jeep...or THIS, leaning heavily towards the Spyder. Particularly since Mitsubishi has this wonderful finance deal going on.Any thoughts or comments on my choice?
I'm not sure about your situation, income, and credit but you probably wont get the 0/0 financing. Almost nobody does.
I've driven a spyder, its quick and sporty. Kinda a female car though. The converatble is awesome.
I'd go for the spyder, for a dailey driver. My jeep gets like 8mpg. I have no power steering or anything. [ 01-07-2003: Message edited by: Kirane ]
The more you save on gas over time, the less you really have to worry about getting anally raped with the financing (Since it'll balance itself out anyway.)
I want one of those gas electric hybrids, damnit. [ 01-07-2003: Message edited by: Delphi Aegis ]

I agree. Mustangs are win
And besides, 8mpg or 20+? I mean really. That's a no brainer.

I'd go with a mitsubishi myself. Japanese cars > American cars in terms of how long they tend to hold up. Seriously, Jeeps and other GMs tend to have problems more frequently as they get older, Japanese cars on the other hand don't.And besides, 8mpg or 20+? I mean really. That's a no brainer.
I'd take any import car over a domestic car. But theres no import SUV that can handle offroad what so ever.
My jeep gets 8mpg because of the big huge gas guzzler engine in it. Newer ones can get near 20mpg.

The Unholy had this to say about pies:
Speaking from experiance, having owned a 92 Jeep wrangler for 5 years, I can honestly say it is the biggest lump of crap ever made. There was no end to things breaking down on the vehicle. Clutch replaced 3 times from the seals breaking on the slave and master cylinders. Starter burned out 7 times. 5 recalls due to manufacturing defects, the list is quite long, I'll spare you the rest of the details. In short DO NOT buy a Jeep Wrangler, YOU WILL regret it.Have a nice day.
6 cylinder or 4 cylinder?
Well maintained?
I've known a lot of people who have them, some love them and some don't.
Did you do the clutch cylinders yourself? I've had shit luck with dealer jobs and even most repair shops save for a select few.

Ehhh...no thanks. Mustangs are a little too l33t d00d, considering everyone with a rich mommy and daddy has one. Also I really, reall don't trust anything Ford.
When I do get the Spyder, I'm not going zero down. Probably going to put about $3000 down on it and make the rest through payments.
They've got this great option where you make smaller monthly payments in exchange for a large last payement, at which point you can trade in for a new car and refinance, or just refinance the payment, keep your current car, and pay it off. [ 01-07-2003: Message edited by: Maradon XP ]

Dude I know you mean like the 2000+ BRAND SPANKIN' NEW shiny Mustangs, but YOU HAVE INSULTED MAH BABY! Whitey may be 11 years behind the times, and she may have a grey door when the rest of the car is white, BUT SHE'S STILL MINE!
I cry. omg.

Except that mustangs are cheap versions of a sports car, anyone with medicore credit can get one. $24,000 for a new one, thats about the ballpark for most averange new vehicles.
A more 'rich mommy' car would be a Cadillac CTX or a Vette. =)
The base model is under $20,000 too. [ 01-07-2003: Message edited by: Falaanla Marr ]

Try $21,900 Reynar. Thats what mine cost. The base model is under $20,000 too.
Yea the regular 2003 mustang is $16,000 base price. I was pricing the GT, which is $24,000 if you get most everything on it.

Yeah, I couldnt quite swing a GT, though.
Thats my next plan
ps, this is only for this current generation of mustangs, if its a 5.0 or earlier, you sir rock.

Well hey we can't all be perfect . I've owned 3 fords now. One has 400,000 miles on the original engine and I don't think I've spent more than a thousand bucks to keep it running (not counting regular oil changes).
One has 370,000 miles, my dad and I rebuilt the 200cid I-6 at 310,000. When we tore it down there was absolutely nothing wrong with it.
and my latest, a 1998 ranger has 50,000 miles on it and I can count the number of times I've opened the hood (again, other than to change the oil) on one hand, not even using all the fingers OR the thumb
People who have problems with Fords usually don't maintain them well. [ 01-07-2003: Message edited by: Kermitov ]
