"Galil
This gun seems to be a cross between the MP5 and the SG552. It loves to be spammed like an MP5 but deals damage somewhat similar to a SG552. Additionally, the spray pattern is more akin to that of the SG552.

FAMAS
I have yet to see someone use this gun.

GUI
The new CS GUI very cool. It's a lot sleeker than the old GUI and has more options. Console in 1.6 is also totally changed around and makes use of the new GUI system.

Rifle Buy Menus
The rifle buy menus were changed a bit. For instance bringing up the buy menu and pressing 4 - 6 used to buy an AWP. Now it buys the useless SG550."

"The Riot Shield will block AWP fire completely when it hits the shield."

(From CS-Nation coverage of CPL)

So, is 1.6 good or bad?

Yeah, that is even worse. Nothing beats shotguning three people only to come around a corner to have someone railgun you, in midair, with zero chance to fight back.

THERE IS NO CAMPING INVOLVED.

Moving around with the Desert Eagle out most of the time. The only camping is for less than 1 second to scope and shoot.

edit: comeon get happy!

edit #2: I get one-shotted with the AK and M4 all the time.

Headshots either come about through luck or skill. If someone does not even have to aim and hits me in the damn hand and it kills me, that is pretty screwed up.

The FAMAS was used in the Unreal Tournament mod called Tacticle Ops. I played TacOps way before I even knew what CS was , and if it is anywhere near as cool as the TacOps version I would play with it quite abit.

The French military use these. It was pretty cool to see one up close , and in a French airport was where I spotted it.

French = Wussy.
I'd take a Belgian weapon over a French weapon...besides I thought the FAMAS was Belgian.

Thought so. FAMAS is that assault rifle with fifty million modification options, isn't it? Or am I out of date with my assault weapons knowledge?

I seem to remember something about the FAMAS was designed with mission-specific customization in mind.

Would be nice if you could get some sort of a proto-plasm weapon thingie in a non-realistic FPS and it had an option with little scroll bars to dictate famage, rate of fire, range, AOE, extra abilities etc.

Like you could set it to long range, high damage, slow ROF, no AOE, slow reload time, and no extra abilities(cept maybe a scope or silencer) and you got a rocket launcher.

OR

Set it to fast rate of fire, low damage, high spread aoe, and add in a DOT effect. Boom theres your flamethrower.

or ad infendium

I would play a game where part of the gameplay was to find different mods for the gun, and having to configure your gun(lets say you could save the modifactions nad then give it hotkeys.

Closest to that I've ever seen is Deus Ex and it's weapon modification system. Things like silencers, scopes, recoil adjusters, laser sights, bigger clips, etc.

Deus Ex had a neat system, but it didnt included tradeoff when using weapon mods.

Faster rate of fire didnt impair accuracy, everything just got better and better(no one could even see the laser sights)

What we need is a game with a fully customizable gun that you can build drawbacks into

Yeah skill upped your damage. Laser sight was cute to make your sniper rifle more accurate when you turned it on, but otherwise useless (it upped your weapon accuracy...but eh...whoopee). That is, of course, why I said it's the closest. Not perfect, but on the right track.

I'd like the morphing weapon concept...through the game you could unlock different levels of stuff. Early on you could only modify the base weapon by one degree in any direction (ammo, dot, dd, range, etc), but as you progress you could modify it more.

Actually it sounds like a simple math system to do something like how you work out weapons in the Mekton Zeta anime mecha combat RPG. You buy a base weapon, but you can apply effects. So for 100 points, you can design something akin to a flamethrower or an acid sprayer or whatever.

The Gunman Chronicles add-on for HL did this actually. All of the guns were quite customizable. Was a very interesting system, and I wish it got implemented elsewhere. Just to through examples at.

The standard laser pistol had four modes; pulse, charge, rapid, and sniper rifle add-on.

The shotgun had three modes. Rifle mode, where shots were close together, shotgun mode where shots were spread slightly apart, and riot gun, where shells were spread wider apart. You could also set the number of shells fired per shot.

The mecha gun, a basic machine gun, had two modes. A normal mode and a double-fire mode. The normal mode shot slower, but was more accurate. Double-fire was faster, but less accurate. In both cases, the gun would eventually overheat, but a barrel cooler, which you could find, made the time to overheat longer.

The polaris blade was a taser gun. Had a short, medium, or long range option. Had power/accuracy settins from low/high to highest/low. Then it had beam, chain, or ball options.

The rocket launcher and chem guns both had more options than I care to list. They both had 20+ options you could pick from.

The OICW is being manufactured as a joint venture between HK and Alliant Systems.

La Clarion is great, as long as you don't mind looking like a chimpanzee applying deoderant while reloading. Talk about an awkward movement. I hate bullpups. Rar.

The riot shields should be pretty interesting. I'm almost tempted to try to go back to CS for them.

Chauchat.

But, come on. What do you expect from the fucking French?

And most weapons nowadays are modular. Ask an AR-15 competition shooter how many uppers they have for one lower. I know if I had the money, I'd have an old pre-ban 16" A2 upper for my Bushy lower (that currently has a 24" bull barrel by DPMS on it), and, hell, maybe one of those ones with the integral 37mm launcher, too, in case I needed to scare away some birds or something.

Just pointing out that not only the FA-MAS is customizable for specific missions.

Oh, and Deth: It's a magazine. Not a clip.

Now excuse me as I go cry over my old Galil some more.

I thought that a magazine was what it was called when it was in storage, and a clip when in the gun. People can hit a ship or tanks magazine, but on the infantry its referred to as a clip isnt it?
