Play the game. Preferably on Gamecube (Analog swinging ROCKS). The narrator (Cant remember his name for the life of me.) is funny as all hell. You'll be laughing your ass off by the time yer done with the training map. It also follows the movie pretty closely (I'm assuming).

Best parts: FREE ROAMING. Yes. Free. Utterly free. There is no web requirement for things like hanging from the ceiling, using ziplines, or webslinging from building to building. You can go ANYWHERE in the city you want. Generally you cant hit the ground, or go *too* far, but if you explore enough, you can find supar seekrit hidden moves and whatnot. Very spiffy..

You can PICK UP civilians. Yeah! Pick 'em up! Wanna protect that guard? PICK HIM UP and web away. Yeah! Hehe.
I cant wait to see the movie. Will be awesome.

More importantly, will it involve my favorite supervillain, Carnage?

Bruce Campbell makes an appearance in it, thus it will rock
If it does well, they are apparantly making Evil Dead 4, thus even it it doesn't rock, see it anyways

And Maradon, Venom was only a SuperHERO while Spider-man had the symbiote.

Venom was a superhero for a good while. After several battles with Spidey as a villain, he eventually asserted a level of control over his symbiotic abilities and became a vigilante. He even got his own spinoff comic book, like Wolverine.

By the way, Venom > all. Carnage got old really fast.

Venom was cooler in his days as a supervillain, though.

Only hard part about Shocker was at the beginning of the battle in the tunnels, but once you actually caught up to him, he was pathetically weak. As for Green Goblin...depending on which fight you are talking about, he was pretty easy too.

And Maradon, I didn't know that, go Venom!

Those alarms were a pain, but if you could find a shadowed spot quickly enough after you set them off, there wasn't a problem. Probably the hardest part about that area was finding a way to get through the laser detectors in the room leading to control rooms C and D.

Carnage's symbiote comes back when they give him a shot at ravencroft. It's been in his blood stream and when he get's an open cut it regenerates.

the so-called "Venom" Symbiote was got by Spider-Man during the "Secret Wars" situation when his original costume was damaged beyond repair in battle. It was later revealed that it was a living creature. In this time, Spider-Man had been progressively pissing off this reporter named Eddie Brock who was pretty unstable. When Spider-Man realized he was losing control of himself (the Symbiote feeds on base emotions), he went to see the Fantastic Four. Reed Richards confirmed that it was a living creature and hypothesized that only high levels of sound would damage it enough to unbond. In a climactic battle, Spidey nearly killed someone, and went up the bell tower to sit under the bell. DING DONG the sound got the Symbiote off.

Some time later, Brock came to the church to pray. He'd lost his job, lost his respect, lost everything. The Symbiote dropped on him and they merged. Brock's hatred of Peter Parker was bent further when the Symbiote bonded with him (the Symbiote hates Peter for rejecting it), and together they became Venom. Venom is insane, and in regards to Spider-Man largely psychopathic. On the other hand, Brock has a twisted sense of honor, which is how Venom became a "hero" (in a Punisher sense of the word... "Antihero" is probably more accurate). He sees what he does as protecting the innocent.

Which is why Venom teamed up with Spidey against Carnage. The Symbiote produced a spawn, which bonded with someone far worse than the twisted but basically good guy that the Venom Symbiote did. The spawn merged with convicted serial killer Cletus Cassidy, who used the symbiote to become Carnage and go on a wide-scale murder rampage. In the end, it was the combined efforts of Spidey, Venom, Black Cat and several other good guys that stopped the rampage of Carnage and his bunch. The spawn was blasted off and destroyed, and Cassidy was locked up.

However, they later found that the spawn had mutated Cassidy's blood, and now whenever Cassidy's blood comes in contact with the air he can regenerate the spawn and become Carnage again. He is currently locked in the superhuman criminal facility known as The Vault without hope of parole.

The movie, however, focuses on Norman Osbourne, the first Green Goblin. Before Doctor Octopus, Mysterio, Kingpin, Venom, Carnage, or the Vulture, there was the Green Goblin. And he's been a thorn in Spidey's side all through his career. Before Mary Jane, there was a girl named Gwen Stacy who Spidey loved. And Goblin found out that connection and threw her off a bridge in the midst of a battle between himself and Spidey (they've altered it to be MJ in the movie). Spidey did everything he could...he shot a webline to get to her fast, and caught her...but she died anyway. Broken neck from a freak twist. Goblin's technology was later adapted by the Hobgoblin to be used in new crimes (and Hobgoblin was a mess unto himself). And in RECENT years, it was Norman Osbourne as the Green Goblin who stole Peter and Mary Jane's baby and replaced it with a stillborn child. So not only did he steal their kid, but he did it in such a way that they don't even know their child is gone. Green Goblin is a real asshole. Do not undersell him.

Besides, X-Men 2 is featuring the Sentinels (with some bit of Magneto in the plot...something about how he gets out so Project Wideawake goes into action and the Sentinels are released). Presumably a Spider-Man 2 would feature some of his other villains.

There are other Marvel projects in the works. Daredevil (Ben Affleck in the title role, and he looks surprisingly good at it from what I've seen) is in production, Hulk is in the early stages of production (supposedly due out summer/fall 2003), they're bouncing around ideas for a Ghost Rider movie, and there are rumors they'd like to do a Fantastic Four movie that doesn't suck (they did a low budget one once that bit rhino ass), and possibly and Iron Man movie at some point.

Well, I guess that's about everyone who's gonna answer. Sadf

1. Yup, Curt Connors.

2. More specifically, he was exposed to atomic radiation while on the beach.

3. The clone was caught up in an explosion devised by the Jackal and apparently killed. So, Spidey hauled the corpse to a factory and chucked it into a smokestack.
Incredibly, the clone got all better (the Jackal claims he showed up and saved him), and then left the city when he figured out he was the clone.
Or was he?

4. The Punisher.

5. His informant fed him bogus information about the Sin-Eater. When the real story came out, he was fired.

6. He was a columnist at... um... aw, hell, I forgot the name. It was not the Daily Bugle, though.

7. Three. Norman Osborn, Harry Osborn, and the nephew of Robbie... um... shit, it's been way too long since I read a Spidey comic Well, it's the guy who took over for Jameson when he stepped down as editor-in-chief of the Bugle. The third, heroic incarnation of the Green Goblin was his nephew.

8. Gwen Stacy's pappy knew Spider-Man's real identity. Dun dun duuuuuuuun!

9. Stacy died when he pushed Webs out of the way of a ton of bricks that came crashing down. In the ensuing deathbed monologue, he called Spider-Man "Peter."

10. Spider-Man's clone, from way back in ASM 149 (or 148, whichever).

11. Cocktail.

12. Spider-Man, of course!

Still trying to decide who they want to be the old flaming skull. Word is Nick Cage has expressed interest, but he's expressed interest in every superhero movie. Dude's a celebrity comic book fanatic the likes of which you can't imagine. Got his screen name (Cage) from a comic book (real last name is Coppola...yeah as in "Francis Ford". His uncle). I get the impression that they're doing two types of Marvel movies...you've got the first stringers (X-Men, Spider-Man, Hulk), then you'll have the darker, more moody line (Blade, Daredevil, Ghost Rider).

Iron Man's one of those projects they'd like to do, but only if they can ride high. He's a sticky prospect right now; his fans are numerous enough that if they futz the movie up too much it would be a serious bomb, but not numerous enough to make the Iron Man movie a priority. Hulk is (loosely) in the same bandwagon...Hulk rides on the fact that everyone KNOWS the Hulk. He's the big green berserker in the purple pants, "Don't make me angry, you wouldn't like me when I'm angry" guy. ORIGINALLY they had Johnny Depp set to play the moody, brilliant Jekyll-type, but they ditched him in favor of someone else. Completely CGI Hulk, though, should kick ass.

Daredevil's getting produced in the light of his recent comeback. Kevin Smith (Mallrats, Chasing Amy, etc) wrote the comic for a while and it had a SERIOUS resurgence of popularity. So it's riding high on the buzz of that.

There will be, apparently, a third X-Men movie. X2 comes out this fall, I believe it is (want to say it comes out in November around my B-day; around the same time the next Harry Potter movie comes out), but like the first time around, the whole cast has pretty much signed up to do another. The two added X-Men this go around are Nightcrawler and Gambit, apparently. The villains are the Sentinels, mutant-hunting giant robots unleashed when Magneto escapes from prison. Rumor is the third X-Men movie will add one of the original X-Men (Beast or the already-seen Bobby Drake/Iceman) as the plotline will also add in Archangel since it'll be dealing with Apocalypse and his Horsemen.

Meanwhile DC Comics is (much to my chagrin) sitting around doing jack shit. They even fucked up the Bat-Franchise again recently by re-hiring Joel Schumacher to direct the next Batman movie...dude's already screwed up Forever and Batman and Robin...get rid of the bum. Superman movie is, as always, something people are interested in, but they can't find the right guy to play Clark/Supes. Was going to be Dean Cain for a while, but he decided against it. Was originally going to focus on the "Death of Superman" storyline, but they ditched that, and therein comes the rub...they can either disavow the old 70's-80's Superman movies with Christopher Reeve, or they can try and go from there...and fans still associate Reeve with Superman (despite his quadraplesis; even the guy who did the vastly-popular "Kingdom Come" story dedicated it "In honor of Christopher Reeve, who made us all believe that a man could fly"). So that's tabled. With those two franchises tabled for the moment, DC has turned to Wonder Woman, but they keep choosing actresses the fans can't stand. And one thing DC learned the hard way when they cast Clooney as Batman was that you have to give the fans what they want. At one point they wanted (of all people) Sandra Bullock to play WW (ugh), then Angelina Jolie (better, but no), and currently don't have a choice (my personal choice would be Catherine Zeta Jones, just because she can play an attractive, strong, intelligent leading lady...).
