I've helpfully added an arrow to point me out in the pictures, but I'm kinda under a pile of bodies in the last couple of pictures.
FYI: you have to take all the other keeps before you can take a relic keep. well stand a chance of taking a relic keep

Nope. Our relics were taken by the other realms going straight to our relic keeps. Taking the guard keeps just gives the victim warning that you're coming, and we can handle the uber guards as long as we don't have trolls breathing down our necks at the same time.
The battleground screenshots are actually from our second push at the keep, for the first one we rammed down the outer two doors and were working on the inner tower door when they showed up and there happened to be a guard respawn at the same time.

taking a guard keep weakens the guards around the Relic keep. also think it weakens the doors of the relic keep
It lowers the number of level 60 guards that hang around the keep -- and we'd rather deal with the NPC defenders than the PC defenders. The strength of the doors depends on how much the realm has strengthened them up.
Best part of this is even though we failed, they have to scrape together like 7 plat to fix the doors we broke open.

Drys, are EQ raids more or less crazy?
EQ raids are pedestrian compared to keep raids in DAoC, mainly because in EQ you're fighting one or a small number of NPCs, and in DAoC you've got a bunch of objectives to meet (such as knocking down doors, working seige equipment, taking out archers, etc.), and unpredictable opponents.
I only bash the things I truely respect.. I.E. rangers.
There's always tomorrow, Drysart!

Right, having never been on an EQ raid, but having been to a DAoC raid, I conclude the DAoC ones are fun as hell. The group I got assigned to had the task of getting the archers. DAMN, it was so cool, we actually had to try and sneak up on them and take em out.
I think it was the most fun I've ever had with a game.

Pshaw, if they want to fight with one hand behind their back, that's not my problem.

Hay... Does DAOC have nazi exp loss if you die?
RvR is no exp loss
PvE is some, but can get 10% back by geting a rez. if you don't get a rez, you lose a little more but you can get 15% back by praying at grave

Dunno, but I was under VERY STRICT orders from Elly to NOT DIE if I were to play on her account.

Ganked from the FoH Boards.... The 10th Ring War. Quickest Encounter pic I could find, even if you was an older encounter.

Anyway, about relic keep raids.
We managaed to sneak 150 middies out of emain by pretending to aggro PK guards and leaving out under level 30's in trusted guild to keep up a false presence to the Albs, Hibs, and spies. We also BSed on alliance chat a lot, confused some poor honest people, but what can you do?
We were doing well on staying quiet, unseen until we had 2 different assasins kill this pesky Alb caster instead of just one, and at the end of our npc and door bashing, she talked someone into logging into the relic keep to check it. They of course saw us and panicked.
Well, the albs waited for guard repop and overran us in equal numbers to ours (good response time!) in a pitched 2 or 3 minute battle, but it was a half ton of fun.

You can tell?
How eet works: Go to Fungus Grove. Avoid mushrooms like the PLAUGE (Damn things change you into a mushroom, stun, AND slow. Grr.), and find the vendor that sells the .. uh.. booze. Cant remember the exact name.
There are three varieties: Jar, Jug, and Keg. Buy one.
Now, find a Caller. They're easy to get to as long as you havent been picking on them poor Tormoks, so no worries. Hand in your jar/jug/keg, and they run off to a seperate part of the zone, otherwise free of mobs, and start summoning some. Here's where it gets neat..
Give 'em a jar, he summons a small wave with large breaks in between 'em. Usually an unbalanced group can do these easily.
Give 'em a jug, and he summons medium waves with an ok break between 'em. A well balanced group with enchanter, or two unbalanced groups can do this easily.
Give 'em a Keg, and he'll summon large waves with small delays in between 'em. Two well balanced groups do this well..
The person that forked the jar/jug/keg gets a contract. Hand the contract back to the caller, and he stops summoning (though any mobs already summoned are, well.. gonna try to kick yer arse. ) If the caller dies, then .. well, he cant summon mobs if he's dead, can he?
I found it a LOT of fun, and some mobs drop fungus.. Yes, fungus. Pods of blue/red fungus.. Heh. Blue gives 90 instant HP, and the reds give about .. oh, I dunno.. 300? 500 mana? Something. Real nice, if ya ask me.
The fun part is guessing which side of the caller (Front or back) the mobs are going to spawn on.

I play Khai. Piper plays Thyme.
And yes Joojoo, relics do something now. Depending on the enemy relic taken you get a 10% increase in melee or magic damage in PvE and RvR damage. Take all four enemy relics and you have a 20% increase in melee and magic damage. Definitely worth it now.
