Anyway, if I were playing DAoC, what race/class/realm should I play?
Things I am looking for:
Strong (Top priority)
Tough (Top priority)
Able to use really big weapons (Top priority)
Able to wear heavy, or at least medium, armor (Middle priority)
Maybe an Albion Armsman?
Highlanders from Albion, and Firbolgs from Hibernia fit the bill as well.
However, since this kind of game isn't much fun if you don't have friends, you'd probably want to be on the same server as Drysart and in the same realm. This means Highlander Armsman. Final build 50 slash, 50 polearm, rest in parry, throw the crumbs into crossbow.
If you decide to do Albion/Palomides, however, there is always a place for you in Froth.

Kay/Albion

Drysart wrote this stupid crap:
Kay/Albion
Oh dear god, you blew my cover.
Personally, I love the Albion. Mine is 34 slash, 34 xbow, 39 pole, 42 shield, 14 parry. I'm, pretty much a jack of all trades. Then again, I'm pretty weird about how I do things heh.
And if you do go Albion, definitely play on Palomides. Definitely one of the best, if not the best, servers in terms of realm balance, players, community, etc. Albion there is very well off too. If you do play there look for Morwyn and I'll help set you up. Lord knows I've got enough cash to throw around with 5+ plat.

It's not like it's hard to figure out. I know your guild name and some character names from the screenshots, and I recognize the Albion emblems and textures, so from there, it's just a quick search of the guild database on the Herald and there you go.
The fact that the banner for your guild board says "A KAY SERVER GUILD" sorta cut some time off the searching process.

Go to Fungus Grove. Avoid mushrooms like the PLAUGE (Damn things change you into a mushroom, stun, AND slow. Grr
If you need to avoid the mushrooms like the plague you deserve to get beat by them. Just come out from the outpost, see the big rock to your right? Turn so its just to your right and run by it in a straight line. It'll put you right at the vendors little area. Then just go over the hill and your at the tribe.
Oh, an Drys. [ 03-08-2002: Message edited by: Skaw ]
Thats not the least bit pedestrian! I did not walk one bit!
so very lonely on Merlin..
Over the course of this evening, I fell through the world and ended up back in my bind point, and was later trapped in a building because I could not descend the stairs ("Mr. Sulu, erect a forcefield in Camelot, sector A-5."). Finally, I appealed it, and a GM summoned me out of the blasted place.
That just happens to be the worst of my horrid luck with stairs and small doorways. There's one tiny door in the Guild of Shadows that you can walk into, but not back out of. And negotiating most staircases and ladders is obscenely difficult.
Gyah.
And as if you thought I'd go a single post about DAoC without asking a question. Pft!
When fiddling with tradeskills, is it better to just make items hand over fist, or make them a few at a time as the master hands out consignments?
Or is it six of one, half a dozen of the other?

With tailoring, I powered my way to 100 by looking up recipes and doing the cheapest ones possible until they became trivial. Then, I did consignments until 150, and went with power tailoring from there. It might be different for every tradeskill, though.

Do the relics do anything yet?
Each Realm has 2, one gives extra power (mana), and the other gives strength (not the stat, but damage output) to all members of the realm.

My very first character EVAR was an Avalonian Cleric on the Merlin server.
I got tired of all the assholes, l33t sp33k3rz, and people talking about shadowbane that I went elsewhere.. then RL friends told me they had characters on Percival, so I went there.

have yet to meet one l33t sp33k3rz. the shadowbane thing isn't a big surprise, almost every guild on the sever is a SB guild. the people don't talk about it 24/7 though.
and the people that were assholes did they have the tag <The Crimson Empire> ? [ 03-09-2002: Message edited by: Mr. Duck ]

It shouldn't be too hard to remedy that considering I have only levelled once in the last couple months. I'm an rvr whore.
