And not only that, but at least GMs are paid to put up with that crap, Guides are volunteers who do that job just because they love the game and genuinely want to help folks. So all Vladd ends up doing here is making himself look like an ass.
Oh, and KaLourin : the GMs and Guides won't waste their time with filing a complaint to him (personal information is ONLY used for suicide threats/threats of violence against players and staff/checking credit card data to make sure if an account has been sold or traded), he does it enough and they'll just hit a few buttons and suspend his account. You're free to try that against a GM or Guide a number of times if you'd like to test those waters, though.

I don't envy their job, that's for sure. They have enough crap to put up with without intentionally pissing them off. Vladd's lucky not to have been suspended, I would have if I were in that GM's position.
I think the reason some are assholes, as you say, is more due to players pissing them off to the point they believe all players are the way that some players think all GMs are. A few rotten apples spoil the bunch for them, and they become less sympathetic to players' problems, especially when players start chewing them out because they can't or won't do what they want them to. And harassment just for the sake of humor just makes matters even worse.
People like Vladd are part of what lead GMs to be the way. Knock it off, not just for the GMs' sake, but for the sake of the players who have to petiton GMs with their problems. [ 11-13-2001: Message edited by: Troodon ]

I quite enjoyed hanging out with players, watching raids, watching weddings, and such as a guide. Alot of players really liked it, too.
I know we had a good guide on Fennin, Taeromm. One day me and my guild were raiding Ragefire, and he pops up to watch. I challenge him to a drinking contest.
Lo and behold, he shows up with 2 stacks of Valtron's. I drink all 20 of em down before I start swaying
And now, whenever I am on and he is on, he ALWAYS pops down, and we have a drink or two.
See, if you are NICE to guides, they will be nice back. Remember, they are people too, that are here to help. They don't get paid JACK, they do this because they WANT TO HELP and WANT TO MAKE THE GAME A BETTER PLACE. Dont treat them like shit.

You mean Ozuri? He's a LEAD now. As in boss of other GMs . And he sat right next to me :if you could only see 1% of the crap he went through on a daily if not hourly basis you'd see why he's no-holds-barred and doesn't take shit.

You know, folks like you seem to think that when you pull some trash-assed stunt like this that you are the only one who has decided it would be fun to pull this crap on a GM or Guide. What you don't realize is that a LOT of OTHER people also think "I'll be the one to get his goat today" and so a GM puts up with idiots almost constantly. And when he punishes you, you think "Man, he's too strict and needs to lighten up!". How do you think you'd react if you get insulted every day you go into work from the moment you log in, and I feel REALLY bad for Rallos' GM (and Vallon's and Tallon's and all the other PvP servers) because the nature of the server tends to mean the nastiest of the nasty call those places home.
Lastly, Ozuri is a very good GM. He handles disputes strictly but fairly, and he's a good natured guy if you aren't insulting or chiding him on. In fact, he has on two occassions undone suspensions I did because he felt the player I punished should be given a second chance. He's really a top notch HUMAN BEING (which many players tend to forget GMs and Guides are), and I was proud to work alongside him and really think he deserves to be a Lead.
Interesting fact about Ozuri : this guy speaks every language you throw at him except German. When dealing with international issues, he was the one we always called, he soaks up languages like Spongebob Squarepants soaks up water. [ 11-13-2001: Message edited by: Olethros et Teleute ]

My most favorite GM went there for awhile.. *sigh* I miss him SOO much. He always got involved with the players when he had spare time.. even officiated my first wedding on Quellious (is gonna get married a second and final time under Syn)
He was one of the funniest and greatest guys. Wish he could come back =( Tolan was his name..
