you fucking bitch.

I hope your constituents saw how utterly bored you were with tonight's moving and emotional agenda.

Ladies and gentlemen, the speech you witnessed tonight (and if you didn't, SHAME on you), could very well be the one this generation will be remembered for.

I am *so* proud to be an American.

she stood there, cold and emotionless as if she were just "going through the motions" of standing and clapping. Meanwhile the entire house at times was in a standing ovation of thunderous applause and hooting and hollering.

Camera panned across her face and she was just standing there looking like "oo." "yey"

I think its a very memorable speech.. because this is an entirely different sort of war.. an entirely different world we are living in today.. I think our leaders *aside from Ms Clinton..* are doing absolutely wonderful given the current situation. I was floored by the amount of support Bush was being given there. I could see tears being held back the entire time.. *I* held back tears the entire time.. I was moved near to tears (doesnt usually like cryin in front of people).. I am glad to be able to witness a piece of American history.. Be proud indeed.. Ive never seen the country so unified.. each time I look around me. cars.. houses.. people.. wearing and waving the flag proudly.. I feel like crying..

I watched the speech... you're right, Hillary did look like she had a "Is this gonna take much longer?" look on her face that times she was shown.

And as for the speech... Damn, President Bush is PISSED. I thought it was a great speech. Had it been Clinton or Gore in this situation, we would have had some mealy-mouthed "We urge all nations to please consider negotiating to expedite any appropriate little bits of cooperation you may feel we deserve. Whatever you want, that's okay."... while my man Dubya said "If you are not with us, you are against us."

Made me proud. A distinct lack of bullshit.

It was "that" good. For a number of reasons.

The President had a very large, very serious message to send tonight. There is a vast group of people who are ignorant of even why we're targets, who are contemplating hate crimes on anyone islamic.

There are many people who are crooning praise of a war, playing out visions in their mind of a swift decisive victory, much akin to Desert Storm.

There are even apathetics who just want people shut up about it already so they can go back to their daily lives of tv dinners and Rosanne reruns.

In the course of 40 minutes, the President made it very clear what we were headed for. There was no bullshit, there were no generalizations. His words re-instilled the patriotic fire, that is already dulling in too many of us as the images begin to fade and lose their fiery color. He tried to prepare Americans for the realities of this war and the reasons for it.

And perhaps most importantly, he tried to impart to everyone the differences between these radicals and the rest of the islamic world - to try and curb the hatred that is building up in many people who don't understand that faith.

Even if you did not think the words latched together in the most eloquent pattern of thoughts, the message behind it should have blurred the edges and made up for whatever you think it lacked in grammar.

This is a time for great emotions people, let them flow. Your President, and Commander in Chief, is leading us in a struggle to defend everything we stand for. You don't have to be a Republican to let him be your champion.

Yea, those police officers from New York had the same look, but you didn't bother to single them out.

There were lots of faces that had that look there, so try not to look so incredibly biased, okay? I'm not going to jump up and cheer for Bush until I hear some concrete details, other than vague, sweeping promises that tell me exactly nothing. I did think the new cabinet position they came up with was a good idea, but I'm interested to see if they are going to open the draft up for this, because then I think it would be a really bad idea.

Not everybody deals with emotions the same way you do...

I've known a great number of people who died as well.

I've never cried.
Does that make me a terrible, wicked, evil person?

I've never moaned in agony.
etc.

And to think, some people believe we shouldn't have female leaders because THEY will get too emotional.

So she didn't act like you wanted her to.

A good number of people I know just hold it all inside and go numb when they're upset, and you can never tell how they feel.

And do you really think that those 'apathic', 'ignorant' and/or 'moronic' fools who have missed the events of the last two weeks or try to ignore them will change their mind just because the 1st poltician repeats what was said many times before?

Power to your patriotism, but I still do not think that this speech was very special.

And for those saying how good his speech was etc, just so you know his Speech Writer probably made a million dollars+ for writing him that. All he was doing was reading what was wrote for him.

Hey, show some respect. That our former PRESIDENT and FIRST LADY you're talking about.....as someone once said, "Only in America can a 60 year old war veteran live in a cardboard box, and a draft-doger live in the White house." That name anyone to you?

It wasn't exactly a difficult speach to deliver. He's not proposing anything new. If anything, it was just confirming some people's thoughts.
