Which is true

ok, now I know it is fubar.
Second, IQ tests aren't (or supposedly aren't) used for student placement. They're more or less used as a measure of "mentally handicapped or not", though even then they use different tests. IQ tests are marked by dividing your real age by your projected mental age, and multiply by 100, I believe. Something like that. So a 35 year old who knows all the information the test believes a 35 year old should know would score a 100, in theory. It's easier at younger ages, therefore, to get higher scores. A 4 year old who knows what a six year old knows would have an IQ of 150, for instance.
So IQ tests got the heave-ho, and were replaced by a series of aptitude tests designed to figure out your particular personal aptitudes. Those in turn are used mainly for class placement. The other reason IQ tests went out of vogue was that if you had records like that on file and a prospective employer got their hands on it, it would open the door to a whole new form of discrimination. Say you and Joe X both got degrees in Applied Physics from MIT but his IQ was three points higher than yours...if he got the job, the question of "was he hired for two points" would be asked.
Lastly, an IQ test only mentions a degree of awareness in given situations. People in the South have traditionally always scored lower, black people lower than whites, richer people higher than poorer, etc. It's the same argument some minority groups use against SAT's and ACT's; the test is too geared towards grading academic ability only open to certain supposedly more privledged (I know I misspelled...it's 7:30am) groups. The difference is that the IQ test is in fact suffering from that problem since it rates your familiarity with concepts and ideas from a set cross section of society.

Stop pooh-poohing it all and have some fucking fun for once. How many people does it take to post that it isn't a "true" test? Some of you people need to learn that if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all. Just have some fun!
DAMN IT!

BUT:
"If English (American) is not your native language, then your reported IQ score will probably be lower than it would be if you took an IQ test in your own language."
Hehe. =Þ
IQ also seems inversely proportional to lack of social skills. (This may have quite a bit to do with the inflation of gamer scores.)
But as Nae says, IQ is a game. Ultimately success is measured on the ability to set attainable goals and pick your home battlegrounds.
I had fun.
