I'm optimistic, but it's Kurtzman so I expect it to be dark, gritty, miserable and everyone is fighting/arguing all the time for no reason. Also very poor writing aimed at morons the general public. See Discovery.

Though Kurtzman was "fired" into an overseer role with a different person being brought in as show runner, with CBS reportedly very upset with him, he can't be properly fired because of his contract. The reason Amazon Prime are distributing it is because Netflix are furious about Discovery (which they funded) and refused Picard due to extremely poor test screenings.

So yeah I'm trying to be excited and optimistic but..... yeah.

The only scifi I'm enjoying on TV right now is The Expanse.

"What?"

"Come out here!"

"Stop yelling!"

"It's Jean-Luc Picard!"

The place with the iconic angly rocks has been in soooo many Star Trek episodes. Kirk fought the Gorn there.

It's about 15 minutes drive from where I grew up, we used to go hiking there when I was little.

Whether or not they did it on purpose, I'm happy to see it!

Star Trek: Picard catches up with Jean-Luc years after his time spent captaining the Enterprise-D. Living (or is it hiding out?) on his family vineyard in France, he's alerted to a huge new threat by a mysterious young woman. And he's also having visions of Data

Returning to Starfleet, he's rebuffed by the higher-ups, and so decides to strike out on his own. But not before he seeks out some old friends (including Jonathan Frakes' Will Riker and Marina Sirtis' Deanna Troi) for advice and recruiting some new faces for this unexpected return to space.

It was alright. I know they can't make shows like they did in the 90's, it would be too out of place. So.. yeah.

Old fat Brent Spiner squeezed into Data's outfit made me chuckle. He's trying though, bless.

I don't like the CGI. I think I realised why I don't, same for Discovery CGI; the bloom and colour saturation is ramped up to max. Anyone else notice this? The colours are crazy.

Speaking of Discovery CGI, all the shuttles in the show are Discovery shuttles.

Also, the hero ship looks like some rejected Mass Effect design.
