Thunderbird > Outlook as an IMAP client.

My phone syncs mail via IMAP as well. Yay Android and K9 as a mail app.

Since I use IMAP for my desktop client:
(1) Firefox keeps a lower memory footprint since I don't have to keep multiple extra tabs open (GMail and hosted domain)
(2) My email is the same on PC, Phone or "3rd party web access"

I hit the Win key and start typing... more than what I'm wanting pops up unless I type a good chunk of the name. Since I know where things are in Start -> Programs (because I actually organize my start menu) it's faster for me to hit things that way. MS fought to make the Start Menu a UI convention, now they feel like doing away with it. At least it's a slow transition this time compared to the "jarring" shift from Win3.x Program Manager to Win95.

Yes, there are a number of things that I hit Win-R and type in. Top 3 abused: cmd, calc, mspaint (I have to keep screenshots of things for work now)

I try not to think about the control panel. Who decided to ship that part out to the Special Olympics Management Division?

Try out "Snipping tool" for taking screenshots, it's awesome. Should be installed with Windows 7.

Blindy's way or the highway.

In other news, my sound problem has fixed itself. Or rather Windows detected and fixed it, then told me so. All by itself. Windows 7 is pretty smart.

... maybe too smart.

Well there's a difference between "I prefer outlook" and "GMAIL DOESN'T DO CONTACTS OR CALENDARS AND THAT'S WHY I USE OUTLOOK INSTEAD".

One is an opinion that I'll let pass, the other is verifiably false.

Would it help if I said I prefer Outlook because of the specific way it handles email + contacts + calendars + notes?

Looks interesting, but I only need a window and Ctrl-Alt-PrtScr captures just the window (specifically a cmd prompt that's running a script)

Although I wonder how "flexible" the snip tool is...

very.

Check out the drop down menu built into the "new button"

You got "Window Snip", "Free Form Snip", ect.

And the export saves as a .png nicely, and you can add highlighting and pen work.

I would suggest given the contents of this thread that you've never tried the gmail versions of these things, but that's better, yeah.

So, does Google have a superior resource for convert DVD (e.g. folder filled with TS and VOB files) to other formats too? In all seriousness, I need a good program for this as AnyDVD HD does not cover that particular need.

I found this funny. Especially the part where R2D2 wrestles Vader's lightsaber out of his hand then cuts him down with it.

Bah, the hissing from my speakers has returned. At this rate I'm sliding towards something newer than my Audigy 2.

It's annoying the fuck out of me.

Oh, I forgot I had this "Supreme Audio II" thing I got with my Asus P5E, I'll give that a whirl. It's a daughter card that fits into a dedicated PCI-E slot on the board. It's newer than the Audigy 2 by a good year or more.
