And the fire ants are total fucking jackasses too. Seriously.

Shotgun to the face is the only way to solve the fire ant problem. Or mines. Lots of mines.

I mostly just assault rifled them from 100 feet.

I used mines on the guardians though.

Welp just beat the game on my first playthrough.

The unique plasma rifle you get from a Rivet City quest is just ridiculous. 2 hit most everything.

I just got a new computer. It's got 2.3ghz dual core AMD processor, XFX Geforce 8800 GTS(512MB), and one gig of ram(I know, I'm getting another stick as soon as I can make it out to Fry's again. It's far!).

Should I even bother with Fallout 3 or would it eat my computer alive?

I run it on my Quad Core 2.4 (i think 2.4, somewhere around there) with 4 GB RAM and an 8800 GT at 1680x1050, ultra high settings, 2x AA and 8x AF. Runs nicely.

Wait till you get more ram, then do it.

I think it's just a tweaked Oblivion engine with extra settings and nicer textures, so if you could run that on high you should be a-ok.

Dig up Lincoln's Repeater from the Museum of History. It's basically the hunting rifle, but uses .44 rounds, and has the model of the BB gun. Lever action, yay!

I haven't really noticed that at all :/ If/when I do a second runthrough of the game I'm just going to stick to small guns or maybe go big guns for the Rock-It launcher. That'll free up a whole damn lot of skillpoints that I've loaded into Energy Weapons.

Also, is there ever a gun that shoots .308? I was expecting some sort of sniper rifle for that, but I haven't found one yet and I've done a decent bit of exploring and side-questing.

Yeah, there are sniper rifles. They aren't too common it seems though. I don't remember where I got my first one, but Arkansas(the sniper at Minefield) has one, as well as the Raider that shoots you from the overpass as you come out of the metro system on your way to Reilly's Compound for the Reilly's Rangers quest. That one could be random, but I've done it multiple times due to crashing and he's always had one. You can also get one by killing Tenpenny at night while he's shooting from his balcony.

There are also two unique sniper rifles, though one is only slightly better than the normal ones.

The Capitol Building is helladangerous fyi. Talon Mercs and Super Mutants everywhere, fighting eachother, and you. Theres even a Behemoth in the dome room.

It's entirely side though, or maybe I just went there early, but theres loads of loot and ammo to be had, but you'll need to make multiple trips to offload what you get and restock on healing items.

You get a free sniper rifle and a whopping five rounds for it from a Ghoul named Mister Crowley in the Museum of Natural History for taking on the quest "You Gotta Shoot 'Em In The Head". That's where I got my first sniper rifle from.

You can also get a sniper rifle (and Chinese assault rifle) and a fair amount of ammo for it from Mama Dolce's packaging plant SE of Megaton.

I have like 400+ 5.56 rounds, 400 10mm rounds, 200 shells, 100 .308 rounds, and 200 .32 rounds, ha ha

The best weapon I found in the game was the unique plasma rifle. Go down to the rivet city lab and a guy will send you to find an android. Do that quest, and get the good ending (don't stop halfway through; you'll know what I mean).

That plasma rifle is absolutely incredible.

So I accidently killed a Paladin from the Brotherhood of Steel while escaping from the sewers, now I'm outside the Citadel and they attack me and I can't finish the main questline. Am I screwed and have to go back to my most recent save game?(Which was like an hour and a half ago. I got lazy with the constant auto saves)
