I can only imagine what the RP is like in a game that's basically soccer-mom friendly.
Like RP in any MMORPG... usually exceedingly creepy.

If you need a Level 31 Healer on Guardian, lemme know at @Lonnehart. Well, once I get the Croatoa missions done. Kennatsu fucked around with this message on 05-19-2008 at 10:57 PM.

I'm pretty pleased. I've gotten one character to 50, my next highest is currently 31 and while grouping with goons last night I snagged a purple PBAoE recipe Worth about 30-35 million influence, but I'll probably keep it for my Psychic Shockwave attack.

I know that. I've got folks on both sides.

Occasionally I'll see a bidding history like '600, 600, 600, 600, 60000' and I usually just assume that someone put a couple extra zeroes on there by accident. Or maybe they just want to give someone a happy little bonus, who knows.

I've heard about that. Sometimes it's because someone was attempting a transfer from their rich to their poor toon.
Unless of course, people routinely list items with price tags like 1213121 or any other crazy sequences heh.

That's not how it's supposed to work.
If you put in a bid for an item (let's say a Boresight) of 500, and there are 300 Boresights on the market for sale, then you pay 500 and buy the one with the lowest selling price. You get the Boresight, and the person that sold it to you gets 500, minus the cost of the transaction. That way, putting things on the market with a low selling price gets them to sell faster.
Now, let's say there are NO Boresights on the market and there are several standing bids to buy one. When you put one on the market, it will be sold to the person that's paying the most for one (if they're bidding as much or more than your asking price). So if you put one up for 275 Inf, and there are bids of 50, 250, 500, and 5000; then the one bidding 5000 gets it. You get the 5000 minus the transaction cost. This way, bidding high gets you what you want faster.

However we need more MMs. Specifically we need 8 Thug MMs who all use Gang War at the same time. This would be awesome.

Correct. Reason I mentioned why it fails at times, is because in the sort options, there is a filter for Sale only, rather than bidding. The Sale aspect "was" supposed to function by way of looking for an exact price match. Problem is, there is no way to designate "bid only" or "sale only" when you list an item. So when a person puts their item up for a ridiculous inf amount, then switchs over to attempt a transfer by matching that same amount as a bid... sometimes someone else is the lucky winner.
Only way to circumvent that would be using low level scrub training enhancements, making sure yours is the only one on the market, and cross your fingers hoping someone else doesnt manage the same move with the same exact item. Improbable chance given the 30 second window it takes to log characters in.. but you never know. KaLourin fucked around with this message on 06-11-2008 at 07:40 AM.
