It's a whole lot easier to read and therefore play. Bad habit from DDR/Stepmania, really.

So the notes scrolling faster makes it easier to read? I guess.. the cluster-fuck hammerons?

Personally I would rather react to the notes rather than read them in advance. I find that, in Guitar Hero at least, I perform far better that way. You mentioned clusterfuck hammerons, but the difference is substantial on slow sections, too.

Ah, okay. I getcha.

I'll play with it on for a bit, see if there's a difference (Aside from the feeling of WHOA THAT IS SLOW when I turn it off)

Because you have no rhythm, only reflexes.

I can hit falsetto, it's just not comfortable.

Because hyperspeed helps the rhythm sections and not the clusters, right?

The fact is that they took out something that is known to be used by a very good portion of players (including most top ranking ones). This is a serious downside to the game and I'm really upset by it.

Also, what the fuck is with the new guitar? It's like way too sensitive or something. I'm not streaking anywhere close to usual on long repetitions like in Blitzkrieg Bop.

Yea, I was stuck in the mid to high 80s on the new guitar then went back to my x-plorer and can consistantly rip off 95+. Not a fan of the new guitar, at all.

So how does difficulty setting (if any) impact playing on the vocals gameplay?

More places require you to have the correct pitch the higher in difficulty you go up. I couldn't tell you how hard it gets because our singer can't sing for crap. He's enthusiastic though.

Also where is More Stats after songs? I'm not liking them taking shit like this out.

I never got the allure of music games either.

I didn't think I'd like it either. But as someone who's never, never, never understood or picked up the guitars in a song by ear (though I prefer rock and punk music), GH taught my ears to pick up on the guitars. And now I'm finding that I listen way too hard to the guitars in the songs on the radio.

I want to get done with guitar career before I return it to pick up GH2 or 3 or w/e. Just bought a 360 guitar and wanna get some achievements.

Flirtin' With Disaster is amazing.

Oh man, thank god. You get the Easy, Medium, and Hard achievements for beating it on Expert.

Green Grass and High Tides has a gay pattern. Good song, but hard for dumb reasons. It's like Freebird without the good.

Funnest songs on Guitar = Flirtin' With Disaster, Run to the Hills, and Highway Star

I've been playing Drums almost exclusively since we got the game and I'm starting to seriously enjoy it. Especially on certain songs like Blitzkrieg Bop or Should I Stay or Should I Go or Foreplay/Long Time (assuming you can survive Foreplay[on hard ])

I was playing Guitar because I only had it rented out. My copy's in my house, but I can't play it till Christmas.

Which is fine, because I have Mass Effect and later on DDR Universe 2 I guess to hold me over. And the Guitar Heroes I never played on 360.

I was on expert. I simply didn't fucking bother trying to keep a streak because it's a "kick pause kick-kick pause kick pause kick-kick" which usually isn't so bad except it goes on forever. So I was just "kick pause kick pause kick"ing to avoid wearing my leg out.
