Better than the second, but still not as good as the first. The jokes were more amusing, and the plot wrapped up nicely enough for me. Still a few low, slow points to the movie, but they're made up for quickly enough.

Not to mention, Barbossa in an epic sail-off against Davy Jones in the middle of a gigantic maelstrom.

Definitely worth seeing if you've already seen the previous two.

If the first movie was a 4.5/5, and the second was a 2.5 or 3, then this was a solid 4.
I eagerly await Pirates of the Caribbean 4 through Hojillion.

Checking it out this Saturday night, looking forward to it.

Glad to hear it's better than the second, which I thought was quite boring except for one or two bits (mostly the tribal island parts). I really enjoyed the first one.

Be ye warned, it's expensive because

1) it's porn, so they gouge you for that,
2) it was shot in HD, and thus you get a regular DVD and an HD-DVD of the movie, plus (and I shit you not) a bonus disc. Some of the outtakes are pretty funny, I do admit, though.
3) there are actual(crappy) SFX and stunts and other regular movie elements.

But if you've got the cash to blow, then by all means. Like I said, it's very-well filmed for a porn.

This is it. Bruckheimer was sad because this is the end of the series.

And I loved it, the only bone of contention being they had such buildup with Davy and Calypso and then didn't really give any sort of resolution but overall a very solid and entertaining movie.

I loved when they shot the monkey out of the cannon

Yeah right. Depp has said he wants to do more Pirates movies. There will be more Pirates movies. They practically started the next movie(s) at the end of this one.

It was left wide open for more movies and the suits at Disney know each sequel will print them money. It would be bad business (get it, get it) not to pump out more of these films when the main star is already on board.

lol'd. Sorry to dissagree guys, but I thought this movie was nothing more than par. For being three hours they did leave a lot out: like how Swann and Turner rekindled their love all of a sudden. After betraying almost everyone, and being an all around douche about the Swann kissing Jack thing.... I just don't see it. I just don't buy it.

I'm not going to say that I wasted money seeing it, because I did enjoy the movie, but they had a couple very important plot holes.

But there was nothing. Not even a name-drop. I do expect another film with a continuation to that plot, however without the promise of a sequel I would expect more of an effort on the side of the narrative. Silly me; gg Disney.

And hey, since I'm not very ambitious: Was Will stabbed with the sword he made in the very beginning?

Oh- and I missed Lyinar's contribution to the thread earlier. How silly of me to reiterate a glaring story-telling fault.
