I hope not. 360 version got what 10 new songs on its release, as well as access to the original songs re-tracked for GH2 multi play off the marketplace? (granted it costs anywhere from arm and leg to first born to get them..)
Does anyone know if they're going to be making a GH controller for the PS3, hopefully wireless?
quote:Evidently there are already adapters for the PS3. I don't think they're anything special yet, but if you hold off a bit they might put out some better hard/firmware.
Khyron.
I've been really wanting to get a PS3 for a while, but the fact that I can't currently get my GH controller working on it is one of the reasons I haven't.Does anyone know if they're going to be making a GH controller for the PS3, hopefully wireless?
Also, don't buy a PS3?

I've heard of pelican adapters and some cheap radio shack ones, but I've also heard of issues like the fret lights at the bottom of the screen don't light up when you've got the fret buttons held down, and hammer downs/pull offs don't work. That's why I was curious as to an official controller.
The PS3 just has more games out and coming out for it that I actually want, compared to the Wii and 360. I'll probably eventually get a Wii as well, but I doubt I'll get a 360. It just doesn't really have much that interests me.
Oh snap.

i don't think you've actually looked at the 360's release schedule
the only real worthwhile exclusives that have been announced at this time are FF13, MGS4, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma as far as I can tell Kegwen fucked around with this message on 05-16-2007 at 01:21 PM.

Today, Activision revealed seven more covers that would be featured in the game: Skid Row's "18 and Life," Faster Pussycat's "Bathroom Wall," Billy Squier's "Lonely is the Night," Poison's "Nothing But a Good Time," Extreme's "Play With Me" Eddie Money's "Shaken," and "Synchronicity II" by the recently reformed Police. As of now, 13 of the 30 songs that will be featured in the game are known, with others to be undoubtedly revealed bit by bit over the coming weeks.

Need Def Leppard, Slaughter, and Great White in there somewhere, and they'd pretty much have the whole "Metal Mania" franchise in there. Well minus Winger... But, I won't miss him much.
Edit: Play With Me will be a nightmare on guitar work, ouch. Faelynn LeAndris fucked around with this message on 05-22-2007 at 01:02 AM.

Yay for the Scorpions and .38 Special though.
Comeon Def Leppard you can still make it! :

Mr. Gainsborough had this to say about Pirotess:
Ballroom Blitz is fucking cheating. That is a 70s song.
Well, technically, there was an 80's and a 90's remake. IT'S A LOOPHOLE!
I still like the song though.
Edit: Yeah, I checked, its the 80's Krokus cover of the song. Faelynn LeAndris fucked around with this message on 06-13-2007 at 08:35 AM.
Am I complaining? Not really because it's a badass song.
Except for...Turning Japanese by The Vapors.
Also, Rock Band shit if anyone hasn't read yet.

We have a veritable explosion of Rock Band information to share with you readers, so let's get right down to it!First off, four songs have been announced. These are listed as the "Original Master Tracks", so you can expect the authentic original music.
The Who - Won't Get Fooled Again
Weezer - Say It Ain't So
Black Sabbath - Paranoid
Nirvana - In BloomAnd now, the details:
Game Details:
* The game will contain four separate campaigns on one disk - Guitar, Bass, Vocal, and Drums.
* There is also a band co-op campaign including all instruments.
* Full online multiplayer will be supported on XB360 and PS3.
* Any combination of online / offline players will be supported, with each player choosing their own difficulty.
* A matchmaking system will allow players to find bandmates easily.
* Band accomplishments will be shareable with other players, but details on this are still concealed.
* The current HUD display has guitar on the left, drums in the middle, bass on the Right, and vocals along the top.
* The display has been made more transparent to make backgrounds more visible.
Song Play Details:* If one player fails, their note track will turn gray, and they must sit out.
* Players can revive band mates knocked out of the song by activating star power.
* If all players finish the song, they are granted a jam session.
Customization Details:* Character creation is included - players can make multiple characters, each with their own instrument.
* Players will have access to licensed guitars, pedals, and other paraphernalia through in-game shops.
* Four clothing stores will offer themed duds for created rockers.
* Mo-capped animation sets will be available for each instrument so players can pick shredding styles.
* 40 venues will be available.
* Players can also design their own band logos.
And now the information about individual instruments. All peripherals will be unique to each platform, apparently because Microsoft peripherals require special circuitry.Guitar/Bass Details:
* Guitars are a 3/4 replica of a Fender Stratocaster.
* Guitar and Bass now have ten frets - five near the top of the neck and five near the body.
* The top five buttons will be used in normal play, and all ten will be used in new solo sections.
* Solo sections will only use hammer-ons and pull-offs - no more pesky strumming.
* Guitars will again have the whammy bar and star-power-activating tilt sensor.
* A five-way switch will allow for different effects that can be purchased in-game such as flange, echo, and wah-wah.
* 360 Owners can use their Xplorer guitars, but the solos will most likely be unplayable.
Mic Details:* Singing is now more in-depth than in Karaoke Revolution - a phoneme detector will recognize different consonants and vowels.
* Good singing performance will launch a free-form singing segment.
* Performing well in the free-form segment will launch the singer's star power.
* The mic will also double as a tambourine to give the singer something to do during long solos.
* There will be a Rock Band mic, but other USB headsets will also be supported.
* The XB360 headset will probably not be supported, due to its low fidelity.
Drum Details:* The drum set includes a set with four pads, a kick pedal, and a pair of wooden drumsticks.
* The left-most pad is the snare - every other pad will either be a tom or a cymbal depending on the song.
* Drum star power will function similarly to vocals - play well enough in a free-form section to activate.
* The drum set comes with a detachable stand.
* Drum tracks on hard or expert are actual drumlines - players could play the same song at a real drum set.
Caught in a Mosh and Seventeen were the ones I forgot and apparantly that was revealed a bit ago, but it wasn't posted here or on the site I usually go to. Either way, we got 24 songs.
6 more...there's still hope...
But even if my beloved Leppard doesn't get on it, this is shaping up to be a fantastic mix. I certainly can't wait.

What song would you actually pick? Out of Curiosity. There are too many, and all awesome guitar rock.
I blame Vivian Cambell... I mean look what happened when they brought him on board... There was "Slang".
Rock of Ages, Photograph, Let It Go. Of course then there is the popular picks, Pour Some Sugar on Me, Lets Get Rocked, and Armageddon It. Too many others to list. Lots of Power Ballads too of course.
I absolutely love a good 80-90% of the list so far. Sadly I'll suck on it as bad as I do on the others though I'm sure. Faelynn LeAndris fucked around with this message on 06-19-2007 at 03:04 AM.
Pretty much any of the ones you said, Hysteria or Animal would be fine with me. Honestly I'm not picky because the guitar in their songs, like you said, is pretty much all amazing.
quote:
So quoth Mr. Gainsborough:
Definitely not Pour Some Sugar on Me because it would end up in tier 1 or 2 and I would never play it. That'd be almost as bad as them not being in it at all.Pretty much any of the ones you said, Hysteria or Animal would be fine with me. Honestly I'm not picky because the guitar in their songs, like you said, is pretty much all amazing.
Yeah, I'd prefer to completely avoid Pour Some Sugar On Me, too. For numerous reasons. Not that I don't love the song, but it is entirely too predictable to fall back on one those songs... Plus it is probably the most formula standard of thier songs. (Probably why it got so much airplay.)
I didn't even think of Animal, that one would be great I agree!
My personal pick would probably have to be Let It Go, due to the massive Guitar work on that one where as thier later work (Outside of some Adrenalize songs, but they were mostly power ballads - And that was the 90's anyway.) were more drum/bass heavy in comparison.
Personally, I think Def Leppard would be perfectly suited for the upcoming Rock Band due to sheer diversity in every single freaking song they have ever done.
