Rari joins the Good Team!

Note for future Questions:
In the event that someone lands in the range of two helpful paladins or two helpful rangers or two helpful clerics, etc, they get to choose which teammate they will allow to assist them. Work together!

PVP victories do not deny the loser of the fight access to the location. Anyone who lands there gets the same access to the square as they would if they were the only one there. PVP is merely for players to take levels from each other or otherwise wreak havoc with their opponents. Just remember, if two players are in the same room with a monster, they both have to fight their monsters first before fighting each other.

It IS possible for two people in the same room to use SINGLE USE ITEMS to aid/hinder other people in the same room DURING monster combat, though. If a Demon and a Human are in the same room, the Demon can use his +2 Attack Power potion on the Monster that the Human is fighting and vice versa. If it's two Humans and one needs the extra boost, the other Human can use his potion to help him win. There's no benefits from this aside from helping your side and hindering the other.

That shrine that makes people auto lose/win, if I'm on it and haven't decided on if I want to do it yet, and then someone rolls onto that square, can I decide them to have them auto lose or myself auto win, and then attack them? Can I do this in response to their attack on me?

Events/Locations/Anything static in the location you land on MUST be activated, fought, or otherwise dealt with before any PVP takes place.

And before you ask about locations from previous seasons, wait until you see the chart for this one. It should have all your questions of that nature answered.

If I were to leave it as it was, though, both players could activate it and combat would proceed normally. If only one chose to do so (or could afford) then the other would be in a load of trouble.

Can non-single use effects like the Paladin buff be used to aid a monster against an opponent?

If you'll notice the Paladin changes, there is no Paladin buff that you use on other players.

Ah, I'd seen part of the changes, but didn't notice the change to the buff skill. I take it to mean that several allied players can benefit from this ability each turn, and that the level bonus come simply from victory, not the difference between victory and defeat?

Letting people choose their race and then having a race with a gross advantage PvP ability is absurd. Demons should just get 1d4 or something to their attack roll when PvPing.

-3 until you win a fight... that kind of defeats the purpose. that negative really handicaps someone from ever getting out of level 1. I was just curious as to your idea of the purpose of that rule.

I meant to make it the "You're 'beaten up' and lose your next day's movement" instead but apparently forgot to change it before I posted it. It's more harsh than intended, but it seems to be doing all right for the most part. It's the people getting it more than once I feel for.

Are you saying that it's not a one-time penalty? That it gets worse each time it happens, until you win a fight?

It doesn't stack. I meant they get it, they finally get over it, then it happens again if they don't gain a level beforehand.

What if they got the penalty, then gained a level up while they still had the penalty? Would the penalty stick, or would it go away with the level up?

Got an idea regarding the shrine problem: different adventure zones!

Each turn the players can choose to adventure in...

*City: Holds all the stores, shrines, but very little in the way of monsters(thiefs/muggers) and traps. Perhaps only 10-20 locations all in all.

*Wilderness: Mostly monsters, perhaps multiple encounters (defeat 3 wolves in a row), special wilderness locations (lost in the woods, or you find a mineral vein, see the major's office to register your find for $$$), almost no traps or shrines.

*Dungeon: Harder Monsters, better loot, hidden treasure, more traps.

Not at present. When I do multiple adventure tables, there's often monsters that can only be hit by ranged weapons (aka you just roll level + armor + jewelry if you don't have a ranged weapon), etc.
