-Avenging Wrath no longer causes Forbearance, but shares a cooldown with Divine Shield.
-Forbearance now reduces all of the affected player's damage output by 15%.
-Avenging Wrath now lasts 30 seconds. Willias fucked around with this message on 02-25-2007 at 01:08 AM.
People keep crying nerf warlock, when our imp already is back to useless unless it's phased 24/7 or sacrificed, and our seed isn't nearly as bursty as it once was.
I really look forward to the tclap changes though. Very nice improvement.

I'm not even sure what the basis for these nerfs is, it's not like Priests were remotely close to overpowered before. It's almost vindictive and Blizz isn't saying anything.Apparently there was a Priest riot on Dentarg last night.
Now, replace "Priests" with "Engineers" and "Dentarg" with "Profession forums" and it still works. We have absolute shit aside from new hearthstones, and they continue to nerf the few things that worked (Gnomish Universal Remote being the last decent item).

Don't I fucking know it. Level 62 Blood Elf Paladin Gnomish Engineer here. They say they're adding new shit for us, though, which is at least heartening. They'll go back on a lot of shit, but Blizzard doesn't usually fuck around with most tradeskills.
Fun fact: If you are level 50, a Gnomish Mind Control Helmet will work on a level 66 Warrior and lure him over to Sergra for you to massacre.

Man that change really sucks. I'm not sure why anyone would use Avenging Wrath when it locks you out of shielding for five minutes.
And the Forebearance change is even worse

Yeah but its really the vindictive "kick em while their down" mentality, like you said, that's the most disheartening. Engineers seem to be, by and large, the most creative problem solvers among the professions, and have had to become more so with the absolute dearth of new material or replacements for nerfed/fizzled-past-60 items. We've gone out of our way to try every single low end item that doesn't have the "Useless past 60" tag on it, from discombobulator rays (nerfed, but that one was arguably justifiable) to universal remotes. I could see nerfing the remote on bosses, and *POSSIBLY* on Fel Reavers, but they're just gonna come wail on us anyway after the MC breaks (assuming it doesn't backfire anyway). But to also nerf it on the regular golems in Mechanar? For shame.
Horde Gnomish Engineers get a teleporter to just outside an Alliance city (I'm alliance but I still thinks that's just stupid). A stack of 37 dps bullets takes 2 adamantite ore to make, and usually about 2g of mats for one grenade combine. When I was making my rocket launcher, I camped the fuckin limited supply vendors for a week because it was that much cheaper.
Flame turret? Doesn't even say its consumable until you've wasted a primal fire. Crashin, Thrashin Robot? Sounds fun! Until you realize that the adamantite and fel iron you used is wasted if another engineer doesn't use one right by you. Otherwise they stay in one place, and explode after 2 minutes. And if, by the grace of god, some other suckers...err...engineer uses one, they stand still and shoot at each other until one falls over. Then the other explodes anyway to make sure you're still set back the mats.
Nigh-Invulnerability Belt! Oh how I wanted one. Until I found out it can be purged, spellstolen, and removed in any number of ways. And the 8 knothide, 4 khorium power cores, 20 primals, and 2 arcanite converters don't come on the cheap either.
And lets not even touch on the worthless mote extractor. We can extract life, shadow, and mana. Life and Shadow are already worthless as they drop off damn near everything. But mana...seems appealing doesn't it! Sure, if you enjoy wasting your money making another crappy item, the Spectropic Goggles! Even with an epic flying mount, you can cruise around netherstorm for hours and see maybe, MAYBE one cloud to extract....for 2 to 4 motes.
Want to get profession rewards for grinding faction rep you need anyway for keys and attunements, like everyone else? Tough shit, you get GREEN SMOKE FLARES! Which can't even be used in cities or indoors.
And none of this touches on the number of "fix" patches since TBC's release without fixing the material bug on the gnomish helm that makes it unmakeable (Spellfire Cloth lawl).
Every time we find some last glimmer of functionality...BAM. Stealthnerf. Just watch dragonlings get nerfed even though they still get 2-shotted by pretty much everything.
Edit: And to top it all off, I forgot to bitch about one of the items I actually DO have: The rocket launcher. With a 5 second cast that knocks my own ass down too. I could have cast starfires in 5 seconds for more damage (And I'm farking feral). Demos fucked around with this message on 02-25-2007 at 03:00 PM.
I readily admit this as an alch
