A lot of the things we did around here were kind of dumb in retrospect (bucket of acid), but the community was actually something I was happy to be a part of. SA doesn't feel so much like a community as it does a busy metropolis. You kind of recognize the important people and have some friends there, but none of this everyone knows who you are business. Unless you're an mod/admin or one of the GBS celebrities or a huge bitch (I'm looking at you, teekun)

I don't ever remember looking to any part of the Internet (and years prior to, BBSes) expecting a haven of high intellectual pursuit.... To a degree 'stupidity' is expected and in some cases necessary. God forbid someone laughs at an old slapstick comedy routine.

I remember coming to EC because of the Fallen Age beta (RIP slug killing~), and for all the insults and retardedly stupid shit that I've done and seen, I wouldn't trade a second of it, really.

Hindsight is 20/20. And I remember not even at the start of last year looking at some of my ancient posts and just shaking my head in shame. But I think that as long as it was right to us for that moment, it was okay (Or not so okay, haha).

I've never been very popular here. And for the most part nowadays, I'm a semi-lurker. But I still come every day cos it feels like home. Even with all the fighting. And we've seen so many grow up here.. I mean, wasn't vorbis like, 12 or something when he first came? What about Kegwen? Or Parce? Yeah. Heck, Karnaj is married now.

It's a good place.
