Maradon! had this to say about Matthew Broderick:
I wonder of the PS2 will drop in price when the PS3 comes out...

Hopefully, then I can buy a slim one for my room and not have to share it with my 3 siblings!

Edit: You raised my hopes, then promptly dashed them! Well done, sir.

are there no stores that take pre-orders?
edit: I'll be damned, there aren't

EB/Gamestop had preorders that lasted all of .1 seconds.

I wasn't expecting that to happen with how fucking crazy Ken Kutaragi has become. I bet if it wouldn't be such an obvious move, he'd probably raise the price of the PS2 just to get people to buy the PS3.

"Why buy a PS2 for $400 when I can buy a PS3 for $600 that's backwards compatible?"

Hell, the only reason the PS2 even sells anymore is as replacements for dead PS2 systems. I doubt there are very many people right now that would buy a PS2 that don't already have one.

I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piƱa coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?

Sony basically only price drops if the PS2 sells below a certain amount of units/month. As long as it holds steady sales, their isn't much financial reason for them to price drop. They are a company. They are around to make money.

Wow. This makes me really happy that I camped out at Toys R Us a couple weekends ago. I got two of them, and am planning on Ebaying them. I don't want to deal with all of the issues that usually come with first batches, and it's way too much money to pass up. They're going for $1.5-$2k on Ebay already. I will be happy with an $1.8k profit.

No offense, but you're a bastard. You're no better than fucking scalpers. Then again, I expect the majority of people who have a preorder are planning to do this so you're among the company of many.

If people are willing to pay $2000 for a PS3 why not cater to them and make a profit?

Because profiteers are bad? And if someone wants to waste 2k on that system, i say that a fool and his money are easily parted.

I agree. Why not? The act is no better than scalping tickets though, and I don't have a high opinion of scalpers.

Anyone who eBays their launch PS3 is ace in my book.

Anyone who buys one from a scalper has .

Launch consoles are always buggy anyways.
