So what makes this game better/worse than ddr?
In Favor of GH
---------------
- Better soundtrack
- Guitars are cool
- Less tiring
- Way funnier
In Favor of DDR
----------------
- Shorter songs*
- More songs
- More mods (though I am happy they added a speed mod in GH2)
- Exercise rocks
The only way they can be compared is in that they are both rhythm games. I don't have more fun playing DDR than I do rocking out in GH. It's a totally different experience and I like both of them.
*I like this beacuse unlike stuff like Freebird which is a 9 minute song that I don't wanna play over and over again, if I get stuck on something in DDR, it's not taking too much time to try again. DDR is basically rape in a can for a minute and a half and you're done whereas GH gives you a bunch of bullshit you know you can do for half the song and a couple pieces that really make you think. Granted, GH's bullshit is fun, but still. Different gameplay makes for different kinds of fun.
Hey Gains, I'd bet that if you could do well on Six on Hard, you could probably beat CfH on expert in GH1.

Just got done 5-starring all Hard songs. Holy shit, Six is THE hardest song on Hard mode. Fuck that was hard.Hey Gains, I'd bet that if you could do well on Six on Hard, you could probably beat CfH on expert in GH1.
I bet if I played CfH in the new engine, I could beat it no problem.
Also, I think now that if I went back and tried it, it would be easier. Just because of the stuff I've beaten on Expert now.
Also, I'm stuck at Psychobilly Freakout because of my complete inability to switch from Red/Blue chords, to Yellow/Orange and back again at the pace that song moves. My fingers simply will not bend in the way that song wants them to. Alberd fucked around with this message on 11-08-2006 at 11:31 PM.

Alberd probably says this to all the girls:
Less Talk More Rokk. Oh God, that song started out at a nice pace that I could handle but got fast. I need to either take start practicing HOs and POs, or learn to strum both ways. Also, I'm stuck at Psychobilly Freakout because of my complete inability to switch from Red/Blue chords, to Yellow/Orange and back again at the pace that song moves.
If you have GH1, I suggest playing Cavemen Rejoice on Expert to prep for it. I haven't actually done Psychobilly Freakout on Expert yet, but I have seen a full video of it being played, and it didn't seem much different from the main part of Cavemen Rejoice.
My suggestion: Take your pointer finger and your ring finger, and quickly move them back and forth to hit the R/B and Y/O chords. Move your hand more and your fingers less in other words.

That song is so all over the place. I managed to beat it just by fiddling around long enough. 72% notes hit.

Sakkra had this to say about Robocop:
'Don't Fear the Reaper' needs to be an encore in GH3, with the intro cinematic being a large animatronic Death playing cowbell at the back of the stage.
Yes. Also, Crazy Train needs to go in for god's sake. I'm sick of not playing Crazy Train.

Other songs I'd like to see in GH3:
Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet With Butterfly Wings
Rolling Stones - Paint it Black
Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower
Guns 'N' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle
Filter - Hey Man Nice Shot
Dead Kennedys - California Uber Alles

Willias.
True that. Freebird practically gives you a free 100k points at the beginning, not sure about Hangar 18.
I asked Fal a while back if GH was suitable for the girls. (7 and 9) and he said it was, so Monica and I had toyed with the idea of getting it for them as a present. I took em to the TRU demo station where they could play the full version of the game. Now Cynthia(9)litterally aced the thing, including some expert play, Ravyn did so-so... So we figured it was a go. Not to long after that is when the buzz of GH2 started up so I thought I might hold out for the second instead.
After listening to you all though I dunno if it is viable... Is it that much more difficult to play than the first one? For someone like Cyn who could ace the first, and for Ravyn who could only do so-so (Still had fun though) or will it just frustrate them and be a waste of money? Especially Ravyn.
I don't have the ease of choice to take em up to play any demos around here this time.
In GH2, there are more songs that require you to strum faster than in GH1, there are far more songs with HO/POs (though with the new system, I wouldn't say that it makes the game any harder), and there are songs that are MUCH longer than anything in GH1. So yeah, it's harder than GH1, but not by too much. Actually, I'd say it's more enjoyable to play overall because most of the songs on Expert difficulty aren't a complete bore to play.
Besides, this one has co-op. Co-op + two guitars + Freebird = win.

Concidering one of Monica's favorite movies is "Bring It On" which they always watch with her, I'm not overly concerned about that if you are implying what I think you are.
That movie makes me all kinds of homocidal. Faelynn LeAndris fucked around with this message on 11-13-2006 at 10:59 AM.
Other than the repetetive part near the end, it's fine. And it isn't that hard to play. D:

I like the song itself, but that long part's just no fun at all.
They're easy enough to play, they just sound like ass.

Stop is a great song imo, and it's one of my favorite songs to play.
Institutionalized on the other hand isn't even music. Worst "song" in the game, imo. Doesn't help that it's one of the harder ones to keep a combo in.

Also, I found Raw Dog to be quite fun to play!
