I am glad no one got touchy here about the "Blizzard never releases anything on time" thing. Granted, in the past it was used to poke fun at WoWers, but let's face it...it's something we've all probably been through. I remember having pre-ordered/reserved Diablo 2 for a year. It's just one of those things we've alllllll been through with Blizzard. Doesn't speak to the quality of the games. Just...rather irritating. At least the irritation is generally worth it.
I prefer this over the practice of releasing games as soon as they are barely playable that some publishers seem to be very fond of. JoWood, for example.
In the defense of JoWood, they are in financial dire straits and cannot really afford long delays without going out of business, while Blizzard makes so much money that they are going to buy their own state in couple of months, and change it's name to Blizzania or Azeroth.

No warlock ever solos anything. Ever.
That's why they have minions.

Maybe Blizzard should start taking their planned release dates, then add six months. Delaying for quality is one thing. Chronic delays for the release of every product you release is another thing. It's a sign of poor management.
Just to justify my opinion, I work in software development. The company I work for basically has monthly releases. My group in particular releases quarterly, never posts a delay, and gets between a 92% and 99% (can't please everyone) quality rating every release. Delays of just days would be cause for major concern and management breathing down your neck. Weeks? You'd have CEOs pissed, people possibly fired, multi-million contracts lost, and possible lawsuits. Months? Definite firings, loss of contracts, major lawsuits, and losses in the tens, probably hundreds, of millions. In Blizzard's defense, this is a muli-billion dollar Fortune 500 company though .
