As a matter of pure scale, if twelve people dick around in a 40 man there are relatively few repercussions. If six people dick around in a 20 man raid, you simply won't be able to progress.

All the 20 man raids in the game currently are geared to be easier than all the 40 man raids in the game, but lower population raids by their very nature have the potential to be much, MUCH more challenging for individual participants than a 40 man raid could ever be.

In short, you have no fucking clue what you're talking about.

Everything I've seen about the expansion has been taking the game in a direction I don't think it should really go, imo. I might still play, but without a real review of warriors or warlocks, I don't see how I can enjoy my time.

Get over it. Warriors and warlocks are both balanced fine, they're just balanced into somewhat disappointing roles. When the expansion comes out, "reviews" will be completely irrelevant anyway since EVERY class will be getting a whole slew of entirely new abilities.

I don't like this change because it's either going to lead to my raid alliance breaking up (A very negative change, in my opinion), or it will lead to us running two seperate raids. Us running two seperate raids means I will be leading the second raid. That sucks.

Yeah, those damn high-end/elite guilds. Just because the percentage of them isn't as high (it is higher than you think), they don't deserve to have fun in 40-man dungeons, something Blizzard led them to believe would keep coming out.

Creating 25-man content that is just as difficult as current 40-man content will NOT allow "the masses" easier access to epic items. Instead of high end elite guilds geared around 40-man instances, high-end elite guilds centered around 25-man instances will form.

Those not in the high-end guilds will always progress slower for varying reasons. Be it the lack of a consistent xx member base, a lack of drive to push through the instances or the lack of desire to spend hundreds of gold in repairs/consumables, they will advance slower.

High end content will always require a time committment. Blizzard isn't really catering to the non high-end player base with this change -- said non high-end players are generally non high-end because they don't want to spend 3-5 hours a day 3-5 days a week raiding, not because they lack numbers.

Scarlet Monastery is the type of dungeon blizzard needs to design more of. Instead of having one massive dungeon with trash respawns, have the dungeon broken up into multiple smaller chunks. Then have a, say, 25 person cap on each of those parts. If they did that, those with less time could take out a chunk in an hour or so while those with more time could take out all four areas with their extra time.

It's not about the loot, it's about giving everyone a better chance at experiencing the content. 40 man raid dudes have done the 5, 10, and 20 man stuff along with the 40 man raid content (at some point). Those who don't have the time for 40 man raids, the patience for 40 man raids, or those who just hate 40 man raids miss out on that content.

With these changes in direction with high end content, more people are going to see more of the game.

And I wouldn't be suprised if Blizzard doesn't go back to the original game and add higher level versions of MC, Zul'Gurub, AQ20 and 40, BWL, and Naxx that require less people to do.

The issue here is that you're an accelerant. You're such an offensive creature that people cannot help themselves when you come in and start spouting your idiocy. You also automatically assume that everyone else is at fault, thus accelerating things to an unacceptable level.

Thus, to boil it down to a simple equation: Good Thread + Vinven = Bad Thread. You keep ruining things by your mere presence.

Your posts do not need to be well-detailed, they need to be gone. Stick to your own threads and stop trying to ruin others'.

All the naxx fights seem inconceivably hard at first, but then you figure out the trick and it's basically any other fight except with zero room for error; everybody needs to be on their toes constantly.

I remember doing Anub'rekhan and thinking "there is no way this fight will be beaten until people are level 70" but now we beat him without wiping most of the time.

Oh, I agree, but the horsemen in particular are worse than everything else

Each one is a high ass hp melee that has a 60 yard'ish stacking aoe that cannot be resisted (Each one has a seperate aoe debuff, like flame buffet), so you have to put each horseman in a corner and then the entire raid splits into a ton of smaller parts (Most plans involve six groups, one in each corner and two groups opposite each other moving clockwise). Even the tanks must rotate as the damage the debuffs do becomes rapidly fatal to anyone, something like every 45sec every tank must switch over to the next horsemen. They also do quad shield walls... not sure why, guess Blizzard felt like throwing some more fun in. According to spell data the one with ashbringer there also has some sort of animate dead ability

So the entire raid is constantly swinging from horseman to horseman while dpsing and healing on the move while all four tanks constantly switch who they are tanking, for the entire fight

Logistically it is a freaking nightmare, heh. I imagine eventually a guild WILL down them but their fight is absolutely horrendous and is the worldwide roadblock atm, heh, for good reason

Teg found a neat animated GIF that demonstrates the moving pattern, but don't know where it is to link it

Each of the marks from the horsemen has like a 75 second duration, although the damage only triggers on the next application, and the damage doubles every time.

Additionally, each horsemen has their own ability. Ashbringer has a Ragnaros type melee proc (frontloaded fire damage + dot), the lady has some sort of poison cloud AE IIRC, Zelik has a venoxis style chain lightning attack, and the dwarf has a high damage meteor that works like the one in AQ40.

And each horseman shield walls for 20 seconds when they hit 50%, so that you can't rush kill one horseman to make the fight easier.

The fight is gay in the regard of taunts. Basically it forces all your tanks to be in 4 piece dreadnaught for the encounter to even work. Otherwise your taunt resists will be through the roof and one missed taunt, and it's a wipe. Even with the 4 piece, you still have a 5% chance or so for your taunt to be resisted.

Guilds that have the rotation down, the killing order, the movement, are all wiping because of the lady's (forgot her name =/ ) void holes that don't appear on your screen, but spawn beneath you anyways dealing 3k damage a second to you. Or taunt resists, or instagibbing to meteor for no reason. The fight is broken, and it's not. Guilds who have sped through every other boss in Naxx have hit a roadblock on the 4 horse.
