Sonic Wildfire is probably the best I've seen thus far, though admittedly it doesn't hold a candle graphics-wise to the Sonic trailers for 360/PS3.
I admit that did look cool, but I think if I had to tilt the controller to move left and right in such a fast paced game I'd end up chucking the controller into a garbage disposal and/or woodchipper.
The PS3 controller is now slated to include a motion sensor and I almost wish it wasn't for precisely that reason.

I wouldn't even waste my time trying to get a PS3 at launch, everyone. Only 2 million systems being shipped = laffo rare.

ROFL

But to be honest, most of my gaming time is on my computer these days. Money spent on a console would likely be better spent upgrading my computer.

I don't know, I haven't bothered to read your latest tripe; at this point I don't even care about your argument, which always seems to boil down to "NINTENDO'S NOT PANDERING TO ME."
Well, when discussing which console I was looking to buy as we are doing in this thread, it would kinda make sense to make such an argument.
In this thread, though, I also brought up the point that Sony probably has reasons for using blue-ray that do not involve stuffing your house with Sony products, and that the 360 and PS3 will indeed have much better graphics than the revolution.
I only used the phrase "kiddy shit" once. I'm getting much better.

That's nice.
But on the other hand, you need to realize, nobody gives a shit about what you have to say on the subject. I'm not even defending the Wii here, I'm defending a thread's common fucking decency, which you have exhibited no shame in deflowering again and again.
It's not something people hear about.

I didn't know that a willing audience was a requisite for posting on a public forum.
Would it matter if nobody gave a shit about what anybody else in this thread had to say? Does anybody give a shit about what you're saying right now? Does opinionated discourse amount to a violation of common decency in your view?

In Maradon's defense the thread was pretty much asking for it, dressing in that short skirt and those fuck-me pumps. They were dancing, the thread rubbed up against his cock, he got horny. What'd you expect him to do? The thread may have said "No, stop, I don't want your penile warts" but she was thinking "Oh yeah, your dick feels like corn. It's soooooo good."

So is this more of "THE WORLD ISN'T PANDERING TO ME" by John Q. Maradon, or do you have a point?
Sony probably has reasons for using blue-ray that do not involve stuffing your house with Sony products, and that the 360 and PS3 will indeed have much better graphics than the revolution.
And I'm probably going to avoid the Wii, because I have an HDTV and I do not fancy having to make the choice between the grey sidebars and stretching an SD display to fit 16:9.
The PS3 carries a lot of franchises that I like and will, if I'm not mistaken, be compatible with PS1 and PS2 games, but $600 is a lot to spend on a toy.
The Wii sounds neat, and it'll probably the cheapest of the three (until the 360's price is inevitably lowered before Christmas ), but so far it only has a few games that interest me. Furthermore, I'm worried that the motion sensor will just be a horrible gimmick which is either, well, a horrible gimmick, or limits the genres of games which are playable on the console (since the controller is designed specifically to take advantage of the motion sensor). No HD support makes me raise an eyebrow, but I think I could live with that since my current TV is perfectly fine and doesn't support HD anyway.
I've been able to play with the 360 and it's pretty nice, but as with the Wii, there are only a handful of exclusive titles which interest me. Still, my brother-in-law has a 360, and my dad will probably get one, so I'm tempted to buy one anyway so we can have family deathmatches in HALO 3 next year. The family that plays together stays together
I'm so confused. Sentow, Maybe fucked around with this message on 05-22-2006 at 11:32 PM.

It really depends on third party support. If the Wii doesn't get enough games that use the controller set up to it's potential, (ala gamecube) it's going to suck. If Wii becomes anything like what the DS has become, it'll rock.

Indeed. I think Red Steel will be an important title for this reason. If the game is good, it'll prove that the motion sensor can be used well in mainstream genres and not just games designed specifically to showcase the motion sensor.

Sorry.
Red Steel is defently one of their not kid friendly games that should do good.
Here is a video of someone playing the floor video at E3. You can see that his movment and aiming is kind of bad.
But during this EP interview the aiming and movment looks pretty smooth for someone with pratice.
But I can't really justify it. If anything, I'll take the cash and buy the next gen video card for my computer, which still *gasp* has more functionality beyond games, no matter how Sony and Microsoft try to bill their systems.

Asha'man obviously shouldn't have said:
I'll stick to my PC for two or three years, then buy a Wii and PS3 dirt cheap. I would get a 360 too, but Microsoft likes to pay developers big bucks to port to Windows anyway.
I was at CompUSA last month using a gift card and I saw a copy of Halo for the Macintosh. Maybe that's old news, but I couldn't decide if the irony made me laugh or cry.

Actually, the largest problem that I noticed with the Wii was something that is easily remediable.
At E3, Nintendo reps weren't allowing people to adjust the controller sensitivity because what worked for one person wouldn't necessarily work for another. The games were set on the default sensitivity, and people were only being allowed to play for seven minutes at a time. Reps would have to reset the sensitivity after every person took their turn, which would have taken too much time given the lines.
Some people were doing fine with default sensitivity, other people would have liked to turn it down just a bit. I happen to be in the second category.
There IS a sensitivity adjustment in the options screen, it was clearly visible in the Metroid Prime demo's pause menu.

There's no question it'll have new gimmicks. The whole opening thing with the Wii (back when we first saw the "revolutionary new controller") was that they'd have a variety of plug in pieces where the light wand/motion sensor/japanese hello kitty dildo plugged in.

Wii - 75.3% (49/65)
PS3 - 33.8% (22/65)
360 - 32.3% (21/65)
I'd say Nintendo is the big winner.

360 - 32.3% (21/65)I'd say Nintendo is the big winner.
And yet using assumed/given prices...
Wii - 49*250 = 12,250
PS3 - 22*600 = 13,200
360 -21*400 = 8,400
Who is the real winner?

Nintendo, because they made money on the consoles they sold. Sony, for their 22 units moved, lost eleventy billion dollars.

Do we know for a fact Nintendo's not operating at a loss for the console itself? The other two obviously are, but I'm not sure on the Wii.
On one hand, cheap hardware. On the other.. $250 wtf.

Falaanla Marr had this to say about Pirotess:
Wait...Mooj, you waited in that god awful line?
I did, but I had an edge. On the final day of the show I had an exhibitor friend of mine snag a spot in the line before the show opened to general attendees. When everything opened, my spot in line was around the first corner, I only had to wait something like 45 minutes compared to the 5 hour wait that some people were reporting. Unfortunately, when I did get in the lines at each station were already pretty immense, and by the time I got onto the Metroid demo all the other demo lines were at least another hour and a half long.
Nintendo was cutting people off demos at seven minutes, but people with press passes kept jumping the lines. You could tell that nobody was enjoying the press's presence there, most especially not the poor Nintendo representatives that had to let the people jump in.
