How's Auto Assault doing?

PA has a Beta Weekend thing going, I'll post more about it sometime tomorrow or something.

My current opinion however: "Holy fuck this is sweet." It's kinda like Twisted Metal, but in MMO form.

I think I want to add this to my list of "I want to play these upcoming MMOs."

Verily, Sakkra doth proclaim:
How's Auto Assault doing?

I haven't played it since before the revamp, but it didn't change too much with the revamp. Combat is fun for a couple play sessions, until you realize you'll be doing the same thing when you're a high level that you did as a noob. The crafting system really sucks; you basically have to be twinked to make anything near your level. Quests are all the same and the storyline you get from them is meh. PvP would be the saving grace, but they haven't put the work into that they should've.

In other words, good for a month or so. After that, you won't see a reason to log in.

I just wish it wasn't a 3 gig download. D:

K, let's change that. Looks like Twisted Metal, but plays more like Diablo 2 with cars. There's a lot of hold right mouse button.

What I don't like about WoW's instancing is the fact that you feel totally disconnected from other players and thus from the game world itself.

However, it is very nice for avoiding spawn competitions and trains.

Fast respawns and EQ2 style encounter locking pretty much address both of those issues.

Guild Wars for PvP and MMO Lite.

The "No Monthly Fee" thing helps. It can pretty fun, I go in every now and then since I can't afford a monthly MMO Bill, nor do I really want to get back into the whole Grind thing, or standard MMO thing.
