When they say battle, what do they mean. If I'm fighting Yoshimitus, and I have to beat him five times to advance, is that 5 or 1?
Every round of combat, even rounds you lose, counts as a battle.

What the giddy schoolgirl said.
ASTAROTH
Look at that...now there's someone to be afraid of! Though I couldn't play him entirely well, Astaroth was one of my favorites, partially because he says stuff that I say.
Now, let's look at this other guy...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO YOU, ASTAROTH! YOU LOOK LIKE A BIG, SUNBURNED DELIDGAMOND!
Imagine that face crying.

can you unlock mario in the nintendo version?
You are kidding, right?

no. i'm completly serious. he won't have a weapon, he'll have to jump on you to do damage. and his shirt would have logos on it that are from other games that have nothing whatsoever to do with the storyline. it's especially cool, becuase he's from a diffrent timeline, like spawn is. or even better, remodel an existing character and give him a sword and everything and just CALL him mario. then he'll just fit right into the game seamlessly. and more people will buy it, becuase hey - mario!
i post overboard becuase people thought my article about gangsters using swords instead of guns was real, too diadem fucked around with this message on 11-02-2005 at 07:39 AM.
I'm also REALLY enjoying the Create a Soul feature. Having unlocked all of the weapon disciplines, I'm really able to get a lot more out of characters.
Plus, I'm finding that it's really enjoyable to remake certain characters from other games. I've made a fighter in the image of Celes Chere, and it's a damn accurate portrayal.
I can't wait to unlock the KOS-MOS armor pieces. From there, I dunno what I'll do, but I'm really enjoying this.

Check out the big brain on Anakha!
Parcelan, i prefer Costume 2 Astaroth myself. Much more appropriate when you headbutt someone with a giant hammerhead.
...
...if I were to murder you right now, no jury would convict me. His costume makes him look like a Mega Man robot master.

So what would Nail Man's weapon be?

Mr. Parcelan wrote, obviously thinking too hard:
I don't know what that means!
And thus Anakha defeated the Parcelan, and everybody had a good night's rest....But what if they didn't?
A new discipline is unlocked for each class after every 25 battles you fight with that class.
25 - New Discipline
50 - New Discipline
75 - New Discipline
100 - Final Discipline.
Bearing that in mind, there's a very quick way to unlock disciplines.
Spoiler tag for people who don't want to unlock things all cheesy-like.
Create a character of whatever class you want to unlock. Go to vs. mode, and select that character for both players. Adjust player 2's handicap down to 0%. That makes everything a one-hit kill. Then, just repeatedly run up to player 2, hit them, win the battle, and select retry. Using this method, you can unlock every discipline in about 15 minutes, and it only takes that long because of the fact that button responses are cancelled out for a few seconds at the end of each match.

There was much rejoicing when Azymyth said this:
Another question... are displines only unlocked by playing the corresponding class in CoftS mode?
Every 50 battles with the class will unlock another discipline. I just go into Soul Arena Quick Battle and jump out of the ring 50 times.

It's 25 battles per, and my way cuts the time in half because it counts both players' battles.
