Next, open the options page, under input/codecs, access modules, file, set it to buffer a couple thousand milliseconds. That way it will buffer a couple seconds worth of music anytime it's playing content from the local filesystem.
Either that, or just try upping the buffer and prebuffer lengths in your output module in Winamp.
