8 hours is more of a blue-collar thing, but that's fine, too. So using your example, we'd have someone spending time at a job they love but living frugally, or someone spending their copious free time doing what they want, because they have a boring 9-5 job.

Either way, I think the person with resources has more options for happiness and fulfillment.

The person with resources may have a greater variety of options for leisure activity, but they would be deprived the fulfillment found in the field that they felt called to.

I suppose I feel the need to press the issue, because I'm pursuing a degree in the aforementioned field of archaeology. I know I won't be vacationing in Cannes, but without this degree, I would be barred from practicing a profession that I find absolutely fascinating, and so I'm eager to accept the trade-off.

The main thing about university, is you don't necessarily go for something that will make money--you can make money as a shoe salesman. We don't live in a world where majoring in archaeology damns you to the dole queue.

That's not always true. A friend of my family has a degree in Marine Biology. For the first few years out of school, he was travelling through Alaska and Washington and going out on the ocean for long periods of time...but now he's 49 and works a desk job doing import/export because he couldn't find anything in his original line of work.

No, the old ones were a blend of waxes, that, when heated by a light bulb, would melt, rise to the surface, cool down, and sink, in a repeating and fluid cycle. One of the waxes in the blend was toxic.

New ones have this non toxic, and marginally safe for ingestion goop in them.

But what do they have in common?

They are sealed with BOTTLE CAPS.

Seriously, thats a lawsuit waiting to happen.

What's up with that, anyway? Is there a good reason for them sealing it that way?
