The only good thing to come from Fallen Empires was the Goblin Grenade.

haha, no, Homelands was by far worse than Fallen Empires...

Goblin Grenade, High Tide, Hymn to Tourach, Breeding Pit, both the pumpable orders, Soul exchange, goblin war drums.

Now, Homelands... crap, well, you have Merchant Scroll

And on the note of Homelands, came across this little gem... Soraya the Falconer, haha

I'm curious now, has anybody ever put together a sliver deck? How well did it work?

But without homelands you would miss out on great cards like:
joven
or his ferrets
not to mention NARWHAL!

I did see a few decent cards: Giant Oyster its not awesome but its probabbly one of the bests in the set. And thats not saying much.
An-Zerrin Ruins would be really nice against theme decks like goblins or soldiers.

Baj used to have a sliverdec with just about every kill combo you could think of.. and once the queen came out it was pretty hard to get anywhere.
It was all about how you played the creature deck as a burn deck gave it problems and junk.

Inferno-Spirit reminded me of this gem...

Anyways, yeah, slivers work, slivers work real well. Crystaline sliver is the keystone to it all, you run them, other slivers and counters. Your creatures are all immune to any targetted removal and you keep a counter lock on your opponent's wipes and combo pieces and just beat him down with flying beatsticks that keep getting better as the game goes on. All hinges on Crystalline.

"He lets the last Hungarian go, and he goes running. He waits until his wife and kids are in the ground and he goes after the rest of the mob. He kills their kids, he kills their wives, he kills their parents and their parents' friends. He burns down the houses they grew up in and the stores they work in, he kills people that owe them money. And like that he was gone. Underground. No one has ever seen him again. He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. 'If you rat on your pop, Keyser Soze will get you.' And nobody really ever believes." - Roger 'Verbal' Kint, The Usual Suspects

I mean has anybody HERE tried one out. I've heard it both ways, but never from anybody who'd actually used one.

Had a guy who was an obsessive magic player.. had a deck for every situation (including a sliver deck.) He'd play a hand (5way, more fun that way), see what we were all running, then pull a deck out of his footlocker while we simply reshuffled ours, then obliterate us all (All of us) in <20 turns or so. We banned him from playing with us unless he swore to only bring one deck (No sidebar that's essentially another deck) for the entire night.

Yes, slivers are as horrible as you think, and work as well as people say they do.

My favorite deck is my sliver deck. Vorago is right, Crystalline is a vastly important part of it if you're against a deck that bounces your creatures or destroys them. Talon is also nice for completely eradicating any chance of the opponent attacking and not losing creatures, And as soon as Sliver queen and coat of arms is in play, you basically win unless the opponent gets lucky.

I made an online sliver deck, it worked well. The only problem being of course that when people saw it they would call me a n00b and leave

You don't even need Sliver queen of CoA. Chrystalline combined with Ward Sliver == gg

They made new Slivers in the Legions set, very powerful slivers in common, uncommon and rare in all 5 colors.
Sliver decks are a powerful prescence in casual play now.

Back in tempst block I would drop frist turn crystlyne and a winged and say good game. I didn't play any of that namby pampy counter sliver either. I was pure 5 color beat down. Was fast and only lost to the really good control decks. There wasn't much a creature deck could do about it.

That would kind of suck.

A single deck over a whole night of playing would get boring.
