I picked up DDR + Pad. I play for about 30-40 minutes at least every other day. It's useually about 5 days a week.
I also have cut back on food. I generally eat 2 meals a day. A good breakfast that's useually around 600-700 calories and a lunch (around 2-3pm) around 1000-1500 calories. I try and stay at around 1200 with the lunch and make it as "healthy" as i can. If i'm still below 1900 calories for the day i'll have a banana or orange for dinner.
I supplement all this with a daily multi-vitamin to keep up nutrition levels. The only thing i'm still working on is working more protien and carb into this and less fat.

Peter probably says this to all the girls:
This might be something you reallly dislike hearing, but if you spend most of your time gameing, thats gonna be a big setback to ya. Face the fact, If your gameing, your sitting doing very little work, and people tend to grab more snack foods and drinks while doing so. Try devote a Generous portion of your day to doing something outside/Exerciseing/anything that has you moveing. And Don't Balk at doing something because it makes your feet/legs/knees hurt, If anything you should do those things more and play through the pain till it stops hurting, 'cause you do it long enough the weight loss will happen and you will not be hurting anymore.
Not necessarily true. Aside from that fact that it's gaming, just eating right will help him lose plenty of weight if he mixes it with a bit of exercise each day (Palador's exercise bike suggestion actually works). A friend of mine seems to do almost nothing but play video and computer games, mainly EQ2. He was probably around 300lbs for a long time. Then he started dieting and rode an exercise bike a little bit out of each day. He's now down to 260lbs and looks almost half the size he was, and he's still going.
You don't have to even come close to giving up gaming to lose weight.
Like was mentioned before.. its all a matter of balancing your food intake.. I know as a student its all too easy to buy the cheaper starchier stuff.. but I think on a student's budget.. the diet thing is definately doable. Weekly grocery circulars are your friend. ;D And dont be afraid to cut coupons if need be and use em. Even eating out at fast food places can be done so long as you are thinking smart about it. There is alot of good information in this thread for you, sweetie. I know you can reach whatever goal you set out for yourself, the key is just sticking with it and not setting yourself for hard to reach goals. Id say set some short term goals for yourself.. and heck, the calorie counting thing isnt even really necessary, though it does work for some people and Im very proud of said people *cheers for Suddsy*.. I have my own ways of going about the eating healthy which many were mentioned here and some of them were spoken against in here too.. You just gotta find a plan that works for you. Like Faz said.. You also gotta make sure whatever changes you make in your diet .. are changes that you plan to stick to for a lifestyle. =)
If ya need to talk about what KaL and I have been doing, feel free to shoot me a PM or catch me elsewhere.
Just try and make your work out seem less like work and you are much more likely to be able to stay with it. Good luck with it and I hope you well, being in decent physical shape is its own reward.
To help you lose weight, figure out your daily calories for the weight you want to be, then eat that. Might want to step it down in increments, given how much you want to lose.
Also, read the nutrition info on everything you buy. Low fat is good. There's a reasonably cheap program called BalanceLog by HealtheTech that is a great way to track not only total calories, but nutrition breakdown. I used the PalmOS plug-in to add meals as I ate them, but you can enter them at your desk each night if you want.
Good luck.

Fuck that, it really is McDonald's fault. Sue them. Sue them to hell and back, it's the American way. I'll sue too, then we can be all class action and what not.

It's not something people hear about.
just to add to what the others said about water, add some lemon juice to it if you have trouble drinking so much...it helps fill you up, adds a nice flavor, and helps with the weight loss. and yes, stay away from even diet soda 'cause the caffeine is bad for you if you want to lose weight.
